Aqua scale is a company that provides a wide range of bathing and skin care products. Their product lines include a wide variety of baths, showers, and seats. Aqua scale has been in business since 1946 and is known for their quality products at a great price. They have been around for over sixty years and have been making quality products with low prices since it's inception. They produce a wide variety of bath products, including swim spas, bath tubs, shower systems, and even seats with massage features. The company was started by John F. Cahill, a former Chicago police officer who wanted to diversify his family's hardware business into a more profitable venture. After attending a trade show in 1939, Cahill thought he could capitalize on the growing market for bathing and skin care products after learning about the need for such items during World War II. In 1946, Cahill expanded his business to manufacturing and marketing bath and shower seats which became the company's first ever product. Aqua scale began producing bath and shower seats as well as other bathing products such as sinks and toilet bowls in 1947. Aqua scale was incorporated as John F. Cahill & Co., Inc., on November 13th 1951 and then later on April 20th 1953 as Aqua Scale Company, Inc.. The company has been privately owned and operated ever since with the exception of two brief periods of ownership by Sears Roebuck in 1961 and by Hahnemann Medical professionals in 1973. In December 1974, the company was purchased by its current owner of 58 years, Edward F. O'Brien Jr., who bought the company from his father Edward F. O'Brien Sr..
