If I pull it out to far I reach the wick under the wick collar and pull it back to the point it should be. If the wick is to short to use your fingers a pair of tweezers is helpful.If the wick is recessed in the wick collar simply hold the wick collar and twist the wick into the collar until exposed. Then pull the wick out until all of the twisted wick has been exposed.
