This is a great little knife for children. It doesn’t cut like a regular knife, but, I wouldn’t expect it to. That’s what makes it safe for kids.

These knives are unbelievable!!! We were shocked to see we could cut a grape in half and cherry tomato without squishing it. The kids find them easy to hold and use. (Ages 4&6). What a great way to give them the feeling of being able to really help to prepare meals. I gave them to my nieces as a gift. Best auntie ever! 😉

Yes the wood will flake and dull with use. Yes it's not as sharp as a knife. My 3yr old daughter loves helping in the kitchen and this lets her for $15. Raw carrots are tough but celery is very fun for her. Good buy in my books. *** One warning is do not leave it to soak in warm water. Ours got a huge bow/curve in the wood when it was left in warm water for a while. I re-soaked it in hot water and put some weights on it to flatten out. Good as new.
