12694871 Fuel Injection Throttle Body with Throttle Actuator

Replaced a bad throttle body in my 2008 HHR (2.4L) with this product, GM Parts 12694871 Fuel Injection Throttle Body with Throttle Actuator. I was having idling issues, then eventually hesitation and ultimately the check engine light, coupled with reduced engine power and the traction control shutting off. These were signs of the throttle body, and the codes pulled via computer confirmed it. It's exactly what I needed and it works perfectly. Five stars! Once installed (less than an hour) the car started and immediately idled just fine. That is why you *always* buy GM or AC Delco electronic parts (and thermostats) for an HHR. It works, no errors, no BS. PS: I ordered "like new" from Amazon for $60 less than the new in box price. What arrived was a brand new throttle body in an opened box, *but* with no gasket. Luckily one was available at a local NAPA that day.

This GM OEM part solved an ongoing issue that we had with our Malibu. Originally we bought a cheaper alternative and had problems with it right out of the box. After lots of testing and trying to get the ECM to calibrate it via various methods… it finally decided not to start at all. We returned it and bought this original part, put it on and the car fired right up, without any further issues. Contrary to what you might see in other reviews and forums… calibration or taking the vehicle to someone with the equipment to do so was NOT necessary with this product. Hassle free… bolt it on and go. Wish we’d have bought this one in the first place… as we would’ve saved a lot of time and hassle. Sometimes the extra money is worth it.

GM Genuine Parts 12694871 Contrary to what "amazon confirmed fit" says (as of Mar '23) this part does fit a '09 Malibu 2.4L four cylinder. After install car's ECM will initially raise engine idle speed to ~2000 RPM but it within a week it should educate itself and reduce idle speed to normal. Simple install on a '09-'12 Malibu. Loosen clamps on air cleaner duct and hidden one under plastic engine cover on throttle body, pliers for EGR hose clamp and your 10mm socket if you can find your is all you need. You may sacrifice some skin/blood removing the 6 pin wire connector that has been in place since Barry Soetoro was elected. Good replacement

Got DTC code pointing to throttle position sensor mis-compare on my Equinox. 5000-ish miles on this new part and not a peep from the engine management computer since replacement. Throttle plate was shiny too!

Part did not fit. Larger throttle body than the vin # part number.

I bought this in November and it's already bad keeps throwing code for throttle body if this OEM there quality sucks...I took the hose off and the whole bottom part of lip on the throttle body is gone not a part id recommend. I gave it two stars cause it last almost two months lmfao.
