Review: Brilliant scourer - Brilliant scourer. Very easy to use. Great value as it will last a long time. Washes well
Review: Some superficial niggles, but not enough to change a rating. - This arrived promptly and securely. Neither of which affect my star rating. Equally, the fact they were packaged in plastic rather than paper, was annoying but not relevant to the items purpose. I gave these a comprehensive testing out over a long weekend of cooking and washing up. The scourers are strong, and managed to get all but the toughest backed on deposits on a ceramic pan. The pan had been soaked over night to aid removal, which is something I would do normally anyway. To remove the deposits I had to use a coarse green plastic scourer, and even then a lot of force was needed. So I count this as near enough up to my standards and not enough to down mark the product. The size of the scourers is under that stated, by about 0.5cm. Again, at the size of the scourer and predicted life, this isnt enough to have me reaching to complain. This will and does scour, so small scratches may eventually be evident on finely polished steel pans and other items after prolonged and dry use. But those I found whilst cleaning tended to be marks in deeper grime on the pan than I thought it had. But one must be careful on all such surfaces anyway. Again, no worries there. It was not clear from the blurb on the site what gives the scourers their eco friendly food suitable abrasive quality. So far as I can tell from other sites and similar products, it comes from tree resin. All in all, it works well on all but the stubbornest of burnt on marks. No sign of it decaying or loose threads. Hopefully prices will come down for such items as awareness of micro and nano plastics increases.

**Q: Is this made from organic, sustainable cotton?  "Normal" cotton insanely damaging to environment, hence the preference...**
A: I says 100% cotton, I use them regularly they are good

**Q: Will this now come in plastic packaging (as one recent customer has reported)?**
A: Unfortunately, yes. Mine came in a plastic bag within a plastic lined envelope from Amazon. So despite the excellent product, I will not be ordering any more until the packaging is plastic free.

**Q: Are these honestly safe for cookware and non-stick surfaces?  I've just used mine for the first time and it's great, but feels really abrasive!**
A: We have been using them for more than a year on non-stick pans, glasses, stainless steel and have not seen any scratching at all. I cannot guarantee they are non-abrasive, all I can say is I have seen no evidence in our household use of them.

**Q: These clearly aren't 100% cotton. What are they coated with to make them 'scrubby'? And is whatever it is biodegradable?**
A: I don’t know what makes them abrasive or if they are biodegradable but they are very useful and they do wear out. I like mine a lot.

Been using this religiously on my cast iron and stainless steel and even my rice cooker and it’s honestly the best. I don’t have to worry about scratches. Be careful if what you’re cleaning has measurement marks that aren’t engraved cuz it will take it off. Staining can’t be helped especially with cast iron but it’s not that prominent. Really recommend this for those worrywarts; it works just as well as metal scrapers
