The sheet is thick enough to feel sturdy, giving me reassurance my betta is safe and secure in his tank. At the same time. It’s thin enough to be cut with snips, making it easy to customize to fit your tanks needs. My tank has odd measurements compared to average 10 gallons tanks so I couldn’t find a lid that would perfectly fit my tank. It was easy to round the corners to allow space for cords to go through as well. I love that this lid offers the best of both worlds. It ensures that my betta stays safe, preventing any accidental jumps, yet doesn’t sacrifice any style. I wanted to keep the seamless style since I have a rimless tank. A: This is probably too thick to cut with a Cricut machine, but I have not tried it.

**Q: if i wanted a thicker layer could i glue two pieces together?**

There are also specific FDA approved polycarbonate sheets available for all sorts of food applications, from hospital trays to water bottles.

**Q: Can it be bent over a sharp, 90-degree form using a heat gun?  Is a hairdryer a heat gun?**
A: Yes a hair dryer is a type of heat gun. But the temperature is probably lower than a dedicated "Heat Gun".  Practice on a test piece.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for custom DIY Fish Tank Aquarium Lid

I've used these for making custom aquarium lids on my previous 5.5g tanks and even my current 22g long rimless tank (shown in photo) - which needed exactly 2 sheets to cover all 36" long and the width of 12" was perfect too. The only thing I needed to do was to make some cutouts for air line tubing, HoB filter, power cord, above-water plants, etc. I used some utility tin snips to make the necessary cutouts rather easily. There's no bending/warping from moisture, and the thickness of this sheet is perfect for a lid without being too thick or too thin. I don't have to worry about it shattering like glass would either if I were to accidentally drop a lid panel. It is very lightweight yet sturdy. Highly recommend :)
