Great shoe at a good price
Usually buy Merrill boots, but have always liked Keen for their quality. Bought these because they were on sale and very happy with the purchase. Very solid construction, yet very comfortable. Can't say enough good things about them. You can't go wrong.

Good boots, but heavy
I'm a letter carrier, I bought these as a transition between summer walking shoes and heavy winter boots. These replaced a pair of Columbia hiking boots from last year. I'm happy with them so far but they are heavy. They are nice and waterproof up to a point. 7 hours of walking in a heavy rain and the left boot finally gave in and got a little wet inside. That's not bad at all. The Columbias these replaced were lighter, were not waterproof, and the tread wore off after 2 months of heavy use. I think the tread which is much chunkier on these boots will last longer. They are comfortable. I'm a heavy guy and these boots are comfortable, but compared to all my other shoes, even my heavy winter LL Bean boots, these boots are big all over. To the point where, even though the interior of the boot is the right size, every once in a while I'll catch the toe or heal on a stair or curb because they just really stick out there. As for hiking, I think I would only wear these if it were wet or muddy, otherwise I'm sticking to lighter hiking shoes. **Update** After a major winter storm where we had two days of heavy wet snow and rain, I would give these boots six stars if I could. I have completely embraced them. During the first day of the storm I wore my much more expensive winter boots from LL Bean. My feet froze all day. The second day I wore these, and my feet were the only part of me that was comfortable all day. I wish they had the pronounced nubs that winter boots had for the elastic ice grippers but I made them work. I've taken to wearing these every day, probably until spring.

Updated review... Keen is junk with ZERO warranty support!
UPDATE: In the past, Keen was a good brand, with great durability. Now.... Keen is a worthless company when it comes to quality/durability, and warranty..........WARRANTY IS USELESS! Keen's warranty is so lopsided in favor of Keen, and you will never get anything from them under the warranty. My shoes literally fell apart within 4 months.... I contacted them about the warranty. Sent images, receipt images, screenshots of purchase info, and right from the start they throw up roadblocks. Went back and forth via email for a weeks.....pictures, and even video showing how badly the shoes fell apart..... they always have some excuse as to why the warranty won't cover it, EVERY time, a some point in an email or phone conversation this phrase came out..... "That is considered normal wear and tear, and is not covered under out warranty." WAY OVERPRICED SHOES, AND LESS THAN 6 MONHTS OF USABILITY BEFORE THEY HAVE FALLEN APART.....AND A WARRANTY THAT IS USELESS TO THE CUSTOMER! I don't know what happened to Keen, but they went from a good brand, to horrible in no time at all. If you buy Keen brand footwear, then make sure you buy a CASE of Shoe Goo, or similar product..... YOU WILL NEED IT! The lugs that wrap upward will be the first to start coming apart..... for me, it caused me to trip and fall! Even when you try to "glue" the lugs back in place, another one comes loose, and you spend more time trying to repair them then wear them! Shortly after the sole lugs start coming loose, the stitching starts coming out, and the soles tear away from the uppers. It's insane, trying to repair a shoe that for the high cost, should not be coming apart in the first place. Keen shoes/boots are without a doubt the most overpriced, poorest quality footwear I have ever seen! You'd be just about as well off to burn your money for warmth....because that's about how long these boots will last! UPDATED REVIEW: Less then 8 months with only wearing them about once a week, and the lugs have separated around the outside of BOTH soles! This is totally unacceptable for a shoe of this price! No way will I spend that kind of money for such lousy durability! NEVER AGAIN! THESE BOOTS ARE NOT TRUE TO SIZE! (They run small) I was looking at this boot through a local retailer, and glad I did. I tried on my normal size (11.5 W) and they were very small and tight. I asked to try on a 12W and it fit just right. They only had one pair of 12W at the store, and that pair had a defect that I wasn't willing to live with. I got home, looked on Amazon, and the same boots are $49 LESS! I ordered a pair of 12W, and they fit just right. This is day 1 with them on my feet, so we'll see how the comfort and durability holds up. If they start coming apart prematurely as others have stated in reviews, I will update my review/

Good Boots with some issues AND a ONE YEAR WARRANTY.
Lets get right to the point. I have a pair. They are very comfortable. You can play around with the lacings and you can change the areas where pressure is applied when you lace them up. This contributes a great deal to the comfort. As far as tread and traction they're pretty good. Mostly waterproof - although I've never really had to test them in anything other than an inch or two of water. The outer material is fairly durable, and if you let them dry and use a brush on them you can clean them up fairly easily. As far as reviews claiming they fall apart. Yes, some hiking shoes fall apart faster than others. In this case, it's not a problem because Keen has a one year warranty on all of their shoes. All you have to do is take a picture of the damage send them a copy of your receipt from Amazon and they will send you a brand new pair. That warranty lasts one year. One year. Plenty of time for you to beat these shoes up and still get a replacement. So, while the one start complaints are valid they're not using the return and exchange policy they're screwing themselves out of a good pair of shoes. I would buy them. The one year replacement warranty makes them very worth it and they are very comfortable shoes to have.

If like me you suffer with painfull heels (plantar facilititus) and you like walking then its worth spending out on a pair of these. So confortable and supportive under the heel and general fit is really good. Generous in sizing and they don't make your feet look like " boats"!! I'm considering buying another pair and I would have no hesitation in recommending to others.
