Superb
This is my second bottle, unfortunately the price had gone up a lot since my last purchase. It has a very refined taste from XO brandy not too sweet, best is to drink it neat or with a tiny bit of ice. It would be totally wasted if used for cocktails. I am keeping this bottle for especial occasions. The bottle itself is also very nice looking on the shelf.

Makes an amazing sidecar cocktail. 100 ml grand mariner, 50ml of cognac and a squeeze of lemon juice.

A Christmas Cracker
Fine Cognac and orange, what is there not to like. A must for any discerning Christmas drinks cabinet, although you may not want to share too much.

I am so pleased with the taste. I have had many bottles of the standard Grand Marnier which is great but now having purchased the Cuvee Louis Alexandre the difference is worth the extra price, really special.

Un grand Marnier qui accompagne quelques patisseries faites maison, c'est celui qui vous faut!!!!!! Arôme subtil et saveur pas trop sucrée qui rehausse le goût du cognac, vous ne vous en passerez plus.

Ich bin jetzt weder der Wein- noch Cognac-Kenner o.ä. der jede Duft- und Geschmacksnote erkennt, eher das Gegenteil ;-) Aber ich mag ab und an gern einen guten Whiskey oder Likör. Besonders gern Orangenliköre die teils sehr fruchtig und sauer sind, aber oft einfach zu süß, z.B. Cointreau. Den Grand Marnier Rouge kannte ich schon, der ist etwas weniger süß und insgesamt einfach ein wenig runder. Aber der Louis Alexandre setzt dem noch die Krone auf, der Cognac kommt etwas mehr durch und die Orange ist deutlich zu riechen, dafür etwas weniger zu schmecken. Und er ist noch einen Ticken weniger süß als der Rouge. Alles in allem sehr gut und lecker und passt zum Essen wie auch solo gemütlich beim Zusammensein. Der Preis ist höher aber Preis/Leistung stimmt auf jeden Fall!
