PS1200CXW 12 Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder with CD/DVD Slot Home/Office (White)

This is a heavy duty shredder. It is a lot larger than it looks and is very heavy. I had a hard time carrying it and getting it out of the box. Since it is heavy the motor should last for years. It takes 12 sheets at a time and the clear basket is easy to remove and put back in. If you shred 12 sheets at a time for 15 minutes without stopping, the machine needs15 minutes to cool before shredding again. It also can shut off if it gets overheated. Then it will work again in 15 minutes. A lot of shredders do that and have that feature. You do not put any kind of oil or anything else in this machine. It is not safe to do so. You just use a damp cloth to wipe off the basket to clean it. It is a little large to put on a desk. There are wheels on the bottom to roll the shredder around the floor, they work very well. It shreds paper fast and the paper shreds are very thin for security. This shredder works fast and is easy to use. I am very happy with it.

I've shredded enough paper to empty the collection bin twice. The shredder worked fine. However, since then, the auto no longer works, so I have to turn it on and off for each job. This is extremely inconvenient, so I'm returning the shredder. One thing works -- when the shredder overheats (approximately 5 minutes of shredding), it shuts itself off.

Normal use for several months now, so I got 70 bucks out of it. Never had a jam. Ate all the paper I shoved into it. Downsides were 1) when you empty it, as with every shredder I ever had, there is no way not to dump some shreds in the area- usually because the chards sometimes go behind the receptacle; 2) there is a power switch out of sight in the back, and an auto/off/rev switch on the top. It would be nice to have the machine stop churning after no paper in the input- kind of an auto-sleep. Otherwise, it looks good, is sufficiently sturdy even if it doesn't look that way or have the heft you would expect. Good value.

This is a great picture, but this is not what I received. The product was mis- represented by who-ever. The unit was a gift to my grandmother and she received a black 10 sheet unit.

Functionally this works well and meets my expectations. Also I like having the clear front to know when to empty. However, the color description and pictures of "white" is extremely misleading. The unit is off-white at best.... closer to a cream color actually except for one small area below the bin, which seems odd consistency wise.

This shredder works great! I like that it is not an ugly black color. I keep it next to a chair in my living room where I sort mail. It is unobtrusive and does the job. It has never jammed, can handle entire envelopes of mail, and looks great. I also love the pull out bin for emptying. So much easier and doesn't get bits of paper everywhere

it worked well till 2 days after I could return it and then the auto setting quit working and now it stays on all the time and gets hot.a couple of months later after using it with no auto stop, I took it apart and there was paper all over inside and when I cleaned it out it started working on auto again. if you don't mind taking all the screws out and cleaning out the paper shreds from a round the motor this isn't to bad a shredder. I probably wouldn't buy another one like it. It is easy to empty though.

This shredder works well and is the right size for a home office. But, if you are trying to buy a white shredder to match any other office decor, this shredder is NOT white as described. It is a light taupe color (almost like a filing cabinet color). I kept it anyway because I needed a shredder, and it's a nice-enough color....but not white.
