That's when I happened on this sampler pack from Lavanta Coffee Roasters.The order arrived very quickly. It comes in a VERY thick clear sealed plastic bag which contains 13 separate foil sealed 2 oz. pouches. I could tell these beans were freshly roasted to order, because when I opened my first pouch (Columbia Supremo) the aroma was just amazing.After grinding the beans (14.4 grams) and placing them in the special filter in the Kalita pour over cup, adding 202 degree water (250 grams) brought up a spectacular "bloom" and more wonderful aroma. And after 3 1/2 minutes of brew time, let me tell you, that was one beautifully smooth and rich cup of coffee. Yummmy.There's enough coffee beans in each pouch for 3-4 cups of coffee, so you get an opportunity to really experience each variety, and then it's time to move on to another region. What FUN!!! And every pouch I've opened has been just as wonderfully fresh as the first pouch!By the way, if you're not into the whole grinding your own beans thing, Lavanta also offers this sampler pack with pre-ground coffee, but trust me, grinding your own beans is the way to go if you can.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for anybody wanting to experience a large variety of freshly roasted coffee beans from around the world. However, I did not like that I received the Tanzania Peaberry coffee 4x which was my least favorite coffee, I would have enjoyed it better if each one was different so that way i can explore more variety, ### ⭐⭐ Good coffee, but method favors roasting style over origin *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on April 18, 2015* First, I'm somewhat of a coffee rookie, and I thought this would be a great way to explore. My preference is for La Colombe coffee, I have a grinder at home, and I use an Aeropress, often with the inverted method. While I'm a home-brew novice, I am a wine professional, so I hope my palate is slightly better than useless.After trying about a third of the way through, with different regions, I was beginning to doubt my brewing method because they all tasted the same. After some more research, I would say the coffee was over-roasted. I'd had enough African coffees with light roast to identify the "floral and citrus" characteristics; the African origins here didn't have those characteristics.I looked around the Lavanta website. They offer coffees roasted per your instructions/preference. It's a nice touch, but it lacks a "roasters choice" option. I would much prefer having someone with far more experience than I roasting each variety to bring out the unique expression of each style. This approach tends to place roast above origin.
