Someone else commented in a review that this was bad value but I think the opposite. Rack mounts aren't that cheap usually and I've paid less for others I have but none were built anywhere as sturdy as this. It's really quite heavy, I've never seen one so heavy empty when delivered, and I say this in a positive way as this rack mount has a security element to it as you basically lock your mac/s inside of it. Unlike a lot of the mac mini rack mounts out there that have no way of securing the macs, this does and would at the very least delay a suspected thief due to how you have to screw the device closed having installed the mac/s inside of it. My only comment would be that they should use non-philips screws but some much rarer type for t he screws used to open/close the case.

It does what you would hope from the description, holds 2 x mac mini, m1 or recent intel firmly side-by-side in a 1U rackmount case. One of the places has a removable adapter bar to allow fitting an older, smaller mac mini, but you can just remove two bolts to take it out for space for two recent mac minis side by side. The case seems to be mild steel and very robust. There's a mechanical switch mechanism that connects a button at the front to the power switch at the back of the mac mini, but when you fit the mac mini in, it does faithfully reproduce the click of the original switch it's operating at a distance, and feels trustworthy. There's a small hole at the front that lines up with the actual mac mini tiny power led. There are usb3 cables bringing the rear USBA to a single frontpanels USBA socket, one for each of the two mac mini places. It doesn't try to bring the Ethernet or HDMI around the front. Well, it's a bit of a strange niche thing, but if you have 2 x mac mini to integrate into your rack, don't care about exposing Ethernet or HDMI, you will be pretty satisfied with this.

Looks right at home in rack. Power button and power led window are very practical and thoughtful features. Was able to secure my thunderbolt hub, ssd storage and power supply in the second bay with dual lock and some cable management ties. All connectors are available from the back of the unit without opening and the whole kit is secure enough to travel in a mobile rack (though this one's going to sit in my studio). Only potential downside in my installation is that this fully covered, full depth unit sitting at the top of my rack limits the effectiveness of my built in rack fan by blocking the airflow to other equipment in the rack. Feels overpriced for what it is, but well designed and effective. Fits my needs perfectly.
