Gem of a Product
Whilst the explosion in Gin popularity may have passed it’s peak, Gin is still VERY popular, and what has remained (and strengthened) is the popularity of flavoured Gins. The ‘Mother’s Ruin’ days are long gone when Gin was Gin, all much of a muchness. What better way to enjoy Gin, than knowing you have created your own? Of course, it should be remembered that you are actually creating by using (what is essentially) flavourless Vodka, to distil I believe is still illegal! What becomes immediately evident, when looking at this product, is the obvious care, and attention to detail that has gone into its production. This has been developed by someone that is obviously passionate (and, I suspect, has more than just a little sense of fun). The kit contains everything you need (bar the Vodka – there will likely be no shortage of volunteer guinea pigs to try it….), and all put together in a fun way. There is a good assortment of recipes and instructions, as well as general background info, all in a nice font with images laid out attractively. The components (bottles, funnel and sieve etc.) are finest quality, and includes a great starter kit of spices. Once you have gotten au fait with it, you can experiment. There are labels with the bottles also – call each brew what you like! Make sure you use a water based wipeable marker, so you can re-use, otherwise a bit of tippex or similar for reuse next time! Do I recommend this product? Big fat yes. I think it’s cracking value, and of course once you have, you can always buy further ingredients – replenishment, or different ones to experiment further! Perfect as fun gift that you know will be well received and appreciated (something a bit different), or for yourself! Enjoy – Cheers big ears!

Great gift idea
A beautifully boxed and presented set. Almost too keep to yourself. What a lovely gift this makes for the gin lover in your life. It includes all you need to produce your own bottles of flavoured gins. Everything except the vodka! It’s quite an expensive set considering there’s no spirit included, but as I said before, it is so beautifully presented, I find it hard to moan about that!

A lot of fun and lots of tasty drinks!
This is an awesome set for anyone who loves gin and of course flavoured vodkas and is a great idea for a birthday or christmas present. You get 10 different spices and flavourings (as well as additional juniper berries) in addition to recipe ideas, two lovely bottles, a funnel, sieve and labels. So all you need to buy is the vodka to use as the base alcohol. My advice is if you've bought this set (nearly £50) then buy a decent bottle of vodka and not worry about saving a few pounds on a discount brand - the difference is significant. As well as following the recipes, you will have your own ideas of combining flavours - that's part of the fun and if you want to add something not included in the set, then why not! Just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. There is something rewarding in making your own drinks and the end result is immensely satisfying. As well as just keeping it simple and having a classic G&T, why not use your own gins to make some cocktails such as a martini or negroni. When you've run out of botanicals, you will have the technique down to a tee; just go out and buy a few replacement items of the flavours you like and then try some new ones too. You could even leave out the juniper berries and make flavoured vodka - the method is exactly the same; try adding fresh herbs or fruit (especially berries) for instance. This could become a hobby you'll want to keep doing and doing...and doing!

Excellent gin-making kit that would make a great gift
This is an excellently presented gin-making set that would make an excellent gift. As well as juniper and other botanicals with which you can make gin, it contains two bottles for the finished product, labels, a 'how to' guide, etc - in fact the only thing missing is vodka, which acts as a base ingredient. While it would be cheaper just to buy gin once you factor in the cost of the vodka, it's the fun element which makes this so good. Great stuff.

loved it
this will make an awesome gift for teh gin nut in teh family or friends circle. It comes in a big box and everything is presented to impress as you open it so whoever gets it will be impressed from the off. The instructions are simple, teh equipment is decent quality ( I love teh old potion bottles) and in in no time at all and some vodka you will have to supply yourself you will be making one of teh three supplied recipies and in a couple of days you will have your own gin. I went for teh rosemary but then when It wasnt for me I added a few other ingriedients from my home and came up with a nice alternative. This is hours of fun and interest to teh right person, a fun experiment kit about booze. I recomend highly as a fun gift. It looks pricey bit if you think of the years of use someone can get out of teh basic componants it more than pays for itself

I came back here to look for spice refills and decided to write a review. I bought this for my Husband for Christmas and we have had a ball learning about how to make gin, the spices, the recipes, and the excellent gin we've made! My favorite is the Mallow Blossom, it's pink, botanical, and smooth. i was very, very impressed with the packaging! The mixing bottles are heavy and feel high quality. The labels, recipe cards, and graphics are very well done and make the kit exciting. The large spices and flowers are something I've never seen in a grocery store and the aromas are incredible. I'll be using the strainer and funnel in the kitchen for everyday use, they are sturdy and well made. Overall very impressed with this kit, it's high quality, well presented and fun!

Gin is pretty expensive for spiced up vodka. Bought this kit to allow me to conjure up my own concoction. Everything to craft a yummy unique product is in the kit. Dave’s own is now the household favorite.

This was overall a great gift. The concept of it is perfect and I gifted with a bottle of vodka! Other kits had more recipes and combinations of gin to create but I was in a crunch for shipping so went with this.
