Kombucha Starter Kit - The All Inclusive Brew Your Own Kombucha at Home Kit- Fresh Kombucha SCOBY, Durable Glass 1 Gallon Mason Jar, Temp Strip, PH Tests and Funnel

I was searching for individual components to make Kombucha when I found this kit. It included the jar, cloth, rubber band, SCOBY, sugar, and starter Kombucha. It even included a funnel (which I really didn't need) and litmus paper to check the pH. The instructions with the kit were very to follow although rather than mixing the sugar in the container in which the tea was brewed I found it easier to put the sugar in the jar and then add the brewed tea. I set the mixture aside for 10 days then opened it. I took off an amount of my Kombucha to set aside for the next batch, removed the SCOBY and poured the newly made Kombucha into bottles. I tasted one of the bottles but set the other aside for an additional 3 days with various fruits added.I was not disappointed with the results! The Kombucha that I tasted on the 10th of brewing was beyond my expectations, sweet and tart at the same time. The ones that I added various fruit to (mango, peaches, blueberries and peaches - all in different bottles, not mixing any) also turned out excellent although I don't think I'll use the blueberries again, not bad just not for my taste.I highly recommend this product for anyone who is doing their first batches. I have since then ordered another one and started by second batch and plan on ordering my third as soon as my starter Kombucha and SCOBY sit for a week.

I just got mine 2 days ago and the directions were incredibly easy to follow. I got everything put together in the jar quickly and now have it fermenting! I'm a bit nervous because my house naturally stays a bit colder than I would like for kombucha. Any recommendations? Hope this batch turns out and I can give another update!EDIT: I ended up fermenting it for 14 days because I forgot about it for a little bit (had a friend visiting lol) and it still ended up great. It is on the sweet side but I'm happy with how it turned out being my first batch ever. The scoby that came with it is so healthy and thick that the scoby mine made looks weak haha. I've added pictures so I can maybe get some feedback. I'm going to purchase another gallon jar to use as a "scoby hotel" to keep them healthy and some Mason jars to store the kombucha. At first I thought my scoby was moldy but with further checking it just got chunky in some spots. Is that normal? (See photo, their well formed scoby beneath mine, the chunk in the top left corner was what concerned me) Keeping it warm in my house was a challenge for the first week but it ended up okay! Going to try to add some fruit purees next time.

I wanted to try my hand at making kombucha and this kit makes it simple and has basically everything you need except bottles to put the finished product into (I recommend Grolsch bottles or glass beer growlers). My first batch turned out a little too sweet because I didn't give it long enough to ferment, but all I needed to make a second go of it was 1 cup of sugar and 8 more tea bags!Pro Tip: If your house is too cold, put the jug in the oven with just the oven light on and it'll get it up to a 70-something degree range nicely. Also, there's a typo in the included instruction book that says "sugar water" before there's actually any sugar added to it - you can go to their website for the corrected version.

This was the most affordable kit I could find. Everything is of utmost quality and my first batch was easy and tasted great!!The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because my shipment was short one teabag, and also the instructions are a bit hard to follow.

This kit was perfect for a total kombucha novice like myself. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. Prior to purchasing, I read some reviews citing issues with the size of the scoby, amount of cotton cloth provided, etc-but it appears as though this company takes constructive criticism well because my kit had enough of everything to make brewing stress free. After 9 days of fermentation, I had a beautiful new scoby and the tastiest kombucha ever! It was so fizzy and pleasantly flavored that I didn't bother with a 2nd fermentation-just flavored with pureed pineapple and a bit of cayenne pepper, bottled, put them right in the fridge. I'm brewing my second batch now and can't wait to try more flavorings!

The instructions that came with the starter kit were incredibly simple to follow. It’s amazing how simple it is to make kombucha. I had some questions and the seller was always available and responded immediately to my email questions. I strongly recommend purchasing this kit. All you need is water for the first brew. Subsequent brews require a cup of sugar, 8 tea bags, and water. The scoby has lasted for several brews and increase in size. I’ve bought another gallon jar and split my scoby I drink about 8-ounces every day and want to drink 16. I may start a third gallon jar because I have friends wholove it and are always asking me to bring them a bottle. The sellers support has been outstanding.

This kit is very nice. It has everything you need to start brewing kombucha at home. (You supply water and vinegar.) I'm only giving this 4 stars because the piece of cotton cloth included was a little too small to hold over the jar and get the rubber band in position. The margins were not more than 1/8 inch, but it does stretch. It took some finagling to get it in place. I will be purchasing coffee filters for use in the future.Update: I changed my rating to 5 stars because I am happy with my purchase. This kit was obviously conceived by a thoughtful personI am not good at reading the pH test strips and may not have gotten the pH acidic enough. I found my old Kombucha instructions and saw that I started by adding a cup of white vinegar instead of a tablespoon--which ended up being 3 and I still couldn't tell if I had the right color.My SCOBY is changing position in the jar. I don't remember this from my previous kombucha adventure. Update: I got a nice first brew already!
