Q: Will this work for a 2017 whirlpool refrigerator?

To use it on that fridge you would need an ac retrofit valve. They can be purchased for relatively cheap. It attaches in line clamp style to allow you to service it yourself rather than calling a "professional"

Q: What type of vacuum oil does it take?

My unit came with oil, but I also bought Robinair vacuum pump oil PN13203. I am running my pump on the Robinair oil.

Q: Is a 134a can self sealing can, tap included?

Mine included a tap, but I ended up buying another one because it wouldn't work properly. May have been an isolated instance, though.
