Kids will love this
When I was a kid, Little Tikes had a similar toy called a "Sports Coupe." Because I enjoyed mine so much as a kid, I decided to get one for my niece for her fourth birthday. She loves it. When the item arrived, one of the parts was missing. Little Tikes wasn't able to sent JUST that individual part, so they sent an entire parts kit. So, good product and good customer service. Assembly wasn't so bad, and I was able to complete it with no help. After assembly, I noticed that the pedal car had a much wider turning radius than I remembered, and certainly wider than the Radio Flyers tricycle she has. So she wasn't able to ride it around indoors, like she could easily do with the trike. When my niece first started riding it, she had to adapt a little to the steering method. With a little help during walks, she was able to develop competence in no time. She loves going as fast as she can in it, which would be a mild-to-quick jog for most adults. The hard plastic tends to be very noisy, which means that, if she is getting too far ahead, calling out to her needs to be done with enthusiasm. She is also able to climb low-grade inclines, like where the crosswalk meets the sidewalk, or up a driveway or walkway. So long as the weather is nice, my niece can easily make the 1/2 mile journey to the park, play around for an hour, and make the 1/2 mile trek back, without complaint. Her younger brother, age 3, is able to pedal the car, but turning it still a bit of a task for him, both in the amount of strength needed, and in comprehending the steering system. A few months back, my niece decided to share her "Race Car" with all of the other kids at the park (there were probably about a dozen of them or more). It seemed every kid who tried it, from the age of 18 months to 8 years old, loved their turn at the helm (note: the 18 month old was not able to reach the pedals, so he used it more as a walker, but he was so impressed by it that he didn't want to let other kids try it). They also seemed fascinated with the concept of having a car, instead of a bike or scooter like everybody else had. In short, if you have the space for it, both to use and to store, chances are your child, niece, nephew, younger sibling, etc., will probably love this. And if anybody knows where I could find something like this that will fit a 220 pound grown man, please let me know (asking for a friend).

Poor manufacturing
I knew there might be assembly issues from other reviews, but I am disappointed by the construction parts. First, the rear axel holes were improperly placed by the manufacturer which made instillation almost impossible. Only by applying all my weight and whittling the hole slightly larger could I get it to squeak in. Second, you need 8 screws that are 1.25 inches. The 3/4 inch screws they want you to use cannot even reach the other side of the plastic, much less attach anything. Lastly, who sends plastic screws?!? The gray screws that are used to secure and tighten the housing around the red grips are PLASTIC! The 2 of the 4 screw heads were stripped just placing the screws using slight pressure. I am very concerned about how well this will hold up. I have loved everything Little Tikes that we own and most of it has lasted for over a decade, but I am very worried about this car. At least I did not wait until Christmas Eve to assemble this toy and then discover these issues.

Kids have a blast riding this race car.
Difficult to assemble pedal shaft. Steering parts made of plastic. Small plastic clip on steering shaft broke on first use. Disappointed in Little Tikes design for steering parts. Once we got it together the kids had a blast. Pedals easy and steering functions well. Not hit here despite the trouble assembling.

Looks cool, great quality
Had one of these in yellow about 30 years ago. Was gifted a used old one for my daughter a few years back and she LOVED it, but it was time for it to retire. My daughter is 7 years old, and is tall...she fits just fine! She loves it and it's fun to watch her cruise around. The new design looks cool, too. Still feels very sturdy. Husband had no trouble putting it together, took about 45 minutes. We did not use the stickers because I hate how faded and curled up they can get when left out in the elements, and even without the stickers it looks cool!

TERRIBLE Quality Control by manufacturer Little Tykes
We ordered 2 of these cars for our grandsons. After struggling far too long with STEP 1 of the instructions (mounting the front axle using the plastic parts and screws provided in the box, which was complicated due to poor alignment of the predrilled holes in the parts involved), the rest of the assembly of car #1 went reasonably well. I remain concerned about how well this axle assembly will hold up given the difficulty in putting it together. Then came car #2, which we thought would be a breeze since we had been through the entire assembly process already. Once again STEP 1 was a nightmare, this time because the pre-drilled holes that were supposed to be there DIDN'T EXIST. After a hasty decision to drill them myself, and assembling another front axle of dubious longevity, we moved on to the remaining steps, and discovered that NONE of the remaining required holes in the plastic car body that are supposed to be pre-drilled by the manufacturer EVEN EXISTED. This was NOT a matter of holes partially drilled or plastic pieces remaining that could be punched out; these holes were never even marked on the body. The car body is heavy duty plastic and some of these remaining holes are quite large and require precision alignment/location, so at that point we just gave up. We will attempt to return the car to Amazon, though it has been some time since we ordered the cars (we saved them for > 1 month to give to grandsons that were living overseas and returning to the US before Christmas). Overall, we are extremely disappointed in Little Tykes for such shoddy product quality control that they would ship pedal cars out the door without so much as an inspection to ensure that all holes were drilled. This company had heretofore won our trust by providing many quality products our sons used growing up, and we were hoping for a similar experience with our grandsons. What a letdown.

I have not put this one together or taken it out of the box. I bought a very similar race car made by Little Tikes 33 years ago for my son. He and his fiends spent many happy hours in the racer cars. There were 3 of them on our street. My son still has his original racer car! A real positive was that Little Tikes provided excellent customer service when replacement parts were required. I'm going to buy another one. No grandchildren yet but they will be coming soon.

The assembly was frustrating and we had to drill our own holes so that the steering rod could be put through as they were missing in 4 places and it was not easy to do. We had to go and buy a drill bit for the diameter of the rod and it took a whole day to put together because we could not figure out if we were dumb or there was something wrong with the toy body plastic mould . If the holes had been done properly at the factory then assembly would have been a breeze. Did not expect such bad QC from Little Tikes at all. Was not sure if a replacement would not be in the same sorry state. The screws to secure the gears were also not long enough so we had to look for longer screws in our tool box as they were not eating into the screwholes. Ridiculous for a simple oy from Little Tikes. BEWARE if you do not have the patience or drill tools for the assembly job as you will have one disappointed child.
