I am an avid reader in this field. Butler has done extensive research and introduces many new discoveries and great food for thought and more research. Very good book for me!

I like the book for its information, but Butler makes too many leaps of logic. Otherwise, it's fascinating for the information, but not necessarily for the author's conclusions.

This is really a good book to read as far as the information that it provides. It goes farther back than the bible and it is really interesting to know. I have not finished the book, but what I have read, I really like it.

This book is really good and an easy read

Terrific explanation of the histories of religions, the masons & other secret societies. Amazing how all is interwoven & still shows up in situations of today. If you love history or religion this is a MUST READ!!

it was ok. but was "heavy reading". I tended to read it only a now and again. Not one that I could not put down !

I was extremely disappointed with this book. The first part of the title 'the goddess' - well, one have to look very hard to find anything to do with 'the goddess'. Alan Butler completely ignore the importance of women in history (the history that is relevant for Butlers book) and he describes Magdalene as 'unimportant'. I seriously don't understand why he would put 'the goddess' in his title and I find his so-called research either superficial or somewhat 'narrowminded'.
