Much better than was expected
I ordered a 10-count of Siberian hardneck garlic bulbs. I have grown several types before, and these arrived looking very good. Size was better than expected and the denseness of the bulbs also suggests that they are in very good condition. I just ordered another 10-pack before writing this. The weight stated for 10 was 12 ounces, which left me a bit in question but when they got here the weight was about 20.5 ounces instead, with very large cloves in each bulb. Looking forward to getting these in the soil soon and seeing what I get next year. Thanks for the attention to good packing also, it is a leap of faith to get planting stock through Amazon, and these should do very nicely. Also well worth noting is the price. These cost about $1.90 per bulb and garlic from nursery companies direct can cost $5 to $8 per bulb, or more.

Great Quality! Large Bulbs
Overall incredibly satisfied. I ordered 10 bulbs and there were 145 usable cloves. Some of the cloves were massive and there were a few small. There was 1 bulb out of the 10 that 1/4 of it was soft and unusable. On the plus side I was expecting 6-10 cloves per head and there average was 14.5!!! I planted them today 9/29/23 and I will do my best to post an update this spring on how they grew. I planted them with alternating spacing 6” apart. I am hoping to grow, harvest, store and then replant year after year with these. I believe I will have enough for our family of 4.

Sprouted but Did Not Grow Well
I was very disappointed with this purchase. To be fair, the garlic bulbs did sprout, so they were viable, but the plants never grew strong or healthy and did not form any decent-sized bulbs. They remained weak throughout the growing season. This was not a soil or garden issue — I had garlic plants grown from Sam’s Club grocery garlic planted right next to them, and those grew extremely well. Same soil, same conditions, very different results. Based on my experience, I would not purchase these again.

On a positive note, the five good bulbs are sizable and meet my personal expectations.
Upon inspecting my order, I observed that only 5 out of the 10 bulbs appear suitable for planting. The other five seem dried and hollow, causing me to doubt their potential for growth. I initially sought assistance from Amazon but was directed to their website. While I was uncertain about receiving support there, I did leave a message. However, it appeared I'd have to wait until the next day for a response. In the meantime, I engaged in a chat with Amazon support, and they kindly processed a partial refund, which I found acceptable. I wanted to update on the situation and share my experience. On a positive note, the five good bulbs are sizable and meet my personal expectations. I gave this four-star rating in appreciation of the goodwill refund. Thank you for understanding and accommodating my concerns. Update 11/3: I regret to give this a four-star review, as I don't want to mislead anyone. Upon opening, the garlic looked great, but the cloves were really small, which made me hesitant to plant them, fearing it might be a waste of time. However, I did use them for cooking, and they tasted quite good. The three-star rating is mainly due to the company's goodwill refund; otherwise, I might have given it only one or two stars.

bulbs and cloves are small
Each bulb has many small cloves, which are not good for planting seeds.

Super garlic!
I bought a pound of hardneck Siberian garlic in September for planting in October. After separating the cloves from each other, I covered them with water and added 1 tbs fish emulsion and 1 tsp baking soda (antibacterial). Within four days they started to sprout, and in 12 days 99% had sprouted and most were 5-6" tall. I anticipate a splendid crop late April-early May to pickle and use in cooking. There were 9 bulbs in my bag, all in excellent condition and about half the price from nurseries. Of the 9 bulbs, there were about 90 large cloves for planting. I planted the small cloves in another part of the garden to stir fry resulting greens. Can't wait for spring!
