Great rack - but understand what you're buying!
I drive a 2016 Toyota Tundra. I was in the market for a rack and ultimately decided on this one after doing quite a bit of research. The THULE was my second choice, but because it required I take off the rail system in my truck I decided against it. This rack is very sturdy. I felt like the installation was pretty straight forward. I would recommend anyone looking to buy this to head over to yakimatech.com first to ensure you're getting all the needed parts. It's true this doesn't come with the cross bars. You'll need to order those separately and you'll want to know what size to get based on your yr/mk/mdl for your application. This is not the cheapest rack out there. I'd have gone with the ROLA sold here on Amazon if it hadn't been fixed height, as it also worked with the rail system, but I highly valued the adjustable height. Do some research before making your purchase. If you're not picky, there are definitely cheaper products out there. I knew i was picky and I ended up paying for it but I do not have buyer's remorse. The quality is amazing on this rack. It's very well built, it's light. It comes off quickly if needed. It has bottle openers, tie downs, and an optional side-bar if you want that too. Overall, I would recommended this to others, but know what you're getting because you're not saving any money by picking Yakima.

Super sturdy and heavy duty material. The measurement graph on the post make it easy to level. A little trick connecting the hd rails. Awesome piece of gear.

What.....No Cross bar for the price.
The truck rack is very sturdy and was pretty easy to install. My 2003 F150 had kind of a curved bed and the space to install the brackets took a little thought to install. The spacing between the rails had to be flipped around to reduce the spacing for my Thule roof tent but with a little patients it worked quite well. BUT FOR THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY AND NO CROSS BAR....EVEN A STANDARD LIGHT DUTY ONE COULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED. $272.00 MORE FOR A HD MAKES THIS RACK NOT A GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY. YAKIMA SHOULD BE WAY MORE TRANSPARENT ON THE LACK OF A CROSS BAR. MY FRIEND ALSO BOUGHT A SIMILAR RACK FOR HIS NEW FORD RANGER AND FOUND OUT CROSS BAR NOT INCLUDED. WHAT A SHAME.

I love the looks and the function, well built
I love this thing. Put it on my 2018 f150 crew cab with the 5.5 bed with the retrax pro tonneau. Was able to purchase it when yakima had a sale which made the price much more reasonable. Very sturdy and relatively easy to adjust the height. Have carried 6 4x4x12 lumber without issue. I adjust it up when i need to carry longer things, but keep it mostly at the lowest setting. Love how it looks on the truck especially with the sidebar attachments. Everything seems very sturdy and very well made.

Not HD
This is a compromise on a rack. I am contracting and this is used only on a truck that does trailers. I can remove it to run a fith wheel. New trucks have weak beds and a heavy work rack isn't going to work on them like the older models. My 2003 is tougher for day to day. The new one with this rack is light duty. Good for a ladder or boat. Easy to remove.

Pretty good
Pretty great and versatile rack. I only wish they would have accommodated for the Tacoma bed contours so it could be positioned further back, allowing for more space between the front rack.

False and misleading advertising and they refuse to change it!
BUYER BEWARE! I ordered this and as you can clearly see it states: "and T-slot adapeter". That is a flat out lie. There are no t-slot adapters included with this rack. I had to pay another $160 plus shipping as they refused to honor the ad. Secondly, I called before ordering clearly stating exactly what I have and need. I was told that it has everything for my t-slot tonneau and is compatible. I did everything right as a consumer to insure I was getting EXACTLY what was needed AND included. Fix your false and misleading ad YAKIMA.

Mixed review
So, the towers are easy to install but the bars (which need to be purchased separately, which is another expensive story) are a completely different story. The bars are marked for measuring but they are completely impossible to read. But the bigger problem is that the included hardware is wrong. The bars attach to the towers with 4 screws, 2 on each side. While the inner screws on each side work fine, the 2 outer ones are too short. I had to purchase M8 socket screws separately which weren’t expensive but was really annoying since I couldn’t complete the installation and had to wait until the next day when the hardware store reopened. For the money you spend and the hassle you go through to ensure you are ordering the right parts (since they are sold separately) you’d think Yakima would spring a few pennies for slightly longer screws. Haven’t mounted anything to them yet, but I can assure you they are way more robust than the Thules I used to have. I think the other design flaw is that because the towers are slanted you can’t adjust them vertically without loosening the bars from the towers, since the mounting points between the bar and towers need to slide horizontally as you move vertically. That said, Definitely pricey, but they look great.

Don't Buy. Yakima carries no spare parts for the HD Racks (Overhaul, Outpost). I bent a bolt (j-clamp/hardware # 8881008) on a $1300.00 Overhaul Rack during an outing and neither the dealers nor Yakima have any spare parts, although they advertise spare parts on their website. Called Yakima Customer Service and he was useless, saying too bad your out of luck there's no spare parts for the HD racks.

The product itself was a good product however it did not come with all the pieces to make it usable, Prior to purchasing I read some of the comments. One customer asked if it came with the crossbars as it was very vague in the description. The answer was that it did come with them. It did not. I requested a return authorization. It was granted however it was going to cost almost $200.00 in shipping costs, I elected to keep the product and purchase the crossbars from another company. Beware it does not come with crossbars.
