## Description

Philadelphia rapper Freeway & Bay Area MC the Jacka announce their official group album entitled Highway Robbery coming out as a joint venture between their two labels (Team Early Entertainment & The Artist Records) and INgrooves. The two artists have been working together for the past 3 years on an assortment of different songs as well as this project. The project includes feature appearances from Trae da Truth, Paul Wall, Freddie Gibbs, Cormega, Husalah, Rydah J Klyde & Ampichino and production from Jake One, Traxamillion, Young L, RobLo & Jeffro. The music unites the streets of both coasts and brings some freshness to the current state of hip hop which is over-saturated with jingles and dance music. Both emcees naturally compliment each other while they stick to doing what they are best known for.

3.5 stars - a good album that should've been shorter

Tha album had much potential, and on most of the album, it lives to expactations. I'd say that about 10 of the 15 songs are worth listening to - and those 10 are either very good or even great and brilliant. The first 9 songs are all slaps, but after that the album goes downhill with some borderline garbage songs with generic and uninspired beats or lyrics.Anyway, I'd like to focus on the 10 good (mostly great or brilliant tracks), since they are the majority of the album: the production is top notch, pretty original and fits the duo's rapping (especially the Jacka). The content is not the most original, but the way it's delivered (both in terms of delievery and lyrics) stands out. The Jacks sounds great as usual, and Freeway brings heat to every song he's on. As far as the guest artists - they are too many. Most of them are avarege (and no names) at best, but some of them (the big names) do a GREAT job, especially Trae and Killer Mike. The bottom line, if you like The Jacka's work this album is a must have, it's better than most of his other collaboration albums or street albums. If this album was shorter (10 - 12 songs) with less guest rappers, it would've been a 4.5 stars album easilly)

    Slept-on Classic

Fantastic album. There's maybe 3 songs I skip at this point. The mixing and sound quality is great, which is important to me since it's one of the only reasons I'd buy a physical album anymore. Free and Jack are a counterintuitive duo (other than both being muslim) and really complement each other, plus you have some of the coolest and most surprising features you'll find: killer mike, husalah, and my favorite feature on this album - Paul Wall. Great beats, interesting lyrics, and some real wisdom dropped. Really unusual, original album, it's kind of hard to explain it's in its own lane. But highly recommended.

I never would've thought I'd hear a group album from FREEWAY & THE JACKA. It doesn't even seem like a good match chemistry wise until you listen to the album. It's solid all the way through with production that is heavily influenced by THE JACKA'S laid back flow. Cop this from the bay to north Philly. I'm in GA and I got it.
