Good heart rate monitor very happy with Garmin after sales service
Great bit of kit, works very well, I’m a very big build, 45 inch chest, and the XL fits me fine. I tried about five other heart monitors before, but they all came up too tight. Although I had several in the past, which fitted but seems they were making them smaller when I was buying Has paired well with my iPhone and iPad over the last year. Not had any issues until just now when the battery was clearly running low. My version comes with 4 torx screws covering the back of it to change the battery. Unfortunately, mine didn’t come with the torx screwdriver. So I called Garmin, extremely helpful and even after a year they very kindly sent me one free of charge So definitely would prioritise buying Garmin products in the future given that service Would recommend for others

Reliable HR monitor
Bought to use with an indoor bike/turbotrainer/Zwift set up, after an older Garmin HR belt gave up. This one is better than the previous version in that the electronics module unclips so the belt can be washed. It also has four contact patches rather than two. In use, I found that wetting the pads with water wasn't sufficient to get a good contact and the signal only became reliable after I started sweating. The easy solution to get accurate recording from the start of the workout was to buy some cheap massage lubricant and use a dab as electrode paste. Instant contact, reliable readings throughout the workout. All good so far!

Normally reliable, but this one simply fell apart
I have had several Garmin HRMs over the years without issue, but then swapped to an alternative brand just to test them - 2 failures later, I returned to Garmin with this HRM-Dual bought just over 6 months ago. Pairing was easy and I've had very few issues with connections or accuracy, although on occasion it seemed to be slow in picking up significant changes in heart rate, but settled down once it got there. However, after a week of inconsistent connectivity and a complete failure to log anything on my last ride, I decided to change the battery, only to find that the unit is literally falling apart. Replacing the battery hasn't changed anything and it won't properly go back together now - it's not the battery cover, but the unit itself that has separated along the top. It is no longer sealed, so not sweat resistant, and is failing to provide any data. I'm not going to wait for Garmin customer service to help and will probably just replace this with a new one. Not particularly impressed with the 6 month lifespan, but am willing to put it down to a bad spot of production on this one. Fingers crossed I won't be writing another review like this in 6 months!

Works perfectly!
Does exactly what is says on the tin. Measurements are instant and accurate, and the battery life pretty much endless. I've also had Wahoo HRM, very comparable. The battery is screw sealed, which is pretty good thing as most HRM failures are due to sweat and moisture getting into the battery compartment. The unscrew tool is provided should you need to replace the battery. This will work with any Bluetooth GPS unit, so connects to my Wahoo instantly.

Works very well
Took a bit of fiddling to get it connected to my android but once the connection was established the first time, it now works like a charm. Also, my very old Android phone is rather temperamental with Bluetooth devices now, but this heart rate monitor still manages to work well. As an example, I use Strava for my multi hour mountain trips. During which, I may pause recording. If later in when I restart it I find the connection was lost (almost certainly issue on my phone side), it is a matter of switching Bluetooth off and on on my phone and that's it. My previous HR monitor wasn't as quick in re-establishing connection. Recommended.

Doesn't work at all
I have been using Garmin Forerunner for the past 2 years and for the past few months, the HR measurement is way off. I'd be be panting for breath after sprinting and instead of the usual expected 160+ measurement I would be getting a measurement of 120! I thought buying a HRM would be cheaper than replacing the watch and probably offer a better reading than any watch which relies on optical measurement could. But unfortunately, this HRM Dual was not fit for purpose. I paired it with my watch and started a workout. But instead of using the HR data from the HRM, the recorded activity had the HR data from the watch. It completely defeats the point of it. To circumvent this, I removed the watch and started the activity. But this time there was no HR measurement at all! I contacted Garmin support who said that I need to keep my watch on. But how do you for the software to pick the right HR data? They couldn't answer that. They suggested using the HRM on my partner's Venu and I had the same issue. A complete waste of time.

Must have for training!
I've been using the Garmin Premium Heart Rate Chest Strap for a few weeks now, and I'm blown away by its accuracy and comfort. The real-time heart rate data transmission via Bluetooth and ANT+ has taken my training sessions to the next level. With a battery life that's promised to last around 3.5 years, it's clear this strap is built to last. It's incredibly comfortable to wear, thanks to the soft material and adjustable strap, making long workout sessions a breeze. Plus, it seamlessly connects with all my Garmin devices as well as online training apps, ensuring I'm always on top of my fitness game. The black color is sleek and unobtrusive, and the compact packaging was a nice touch. Whether you're a fitness enthusiast or just starting out, this heart rate chest strap is a must-have for anyone serious about their health and fitness goals. Absolutely recommend!

great quality
I got it to accurately monitor my heart rate during workouts where I have to take off my watch (mainly when boxing) it is very accurate and instantly connects to my garmin watch. Comfortable to wear even when I'm soaking in my sweat, I forget it's there. It measures my HR instantly and accurately during any workout. The only thing I noticed is that it tends to stop measuring for a few seconds sometimes and I don't know the reason for this. Other than that, it's a great monitor from a great brand
