    The absence of down rods spoils the appearance

We bought this multi light pendant for our new custom home along with two matching single mini-pendants and two singles black mini-pendants. The two single satin nickel mini-pendants came with matching down rods and are elegant, this multi-light pendant hangs from cheesy looking bare insulated wire that have noticeable bending from being twisted when packed. The absence of down rods really cheapens the appearance. We resolved the problem by buying aluminum tubing that very nearly matches the satin nickel finish of the lights--an unexpected additional expense.The black min-pendants have the same hung by wire instead of wishing down rods issue. We bought aluminum tubing for those also and had the tubing painted black to match the lights.In short, these lights look great with down rods and cheap without them.
