But I tool a chance with it and it didn't have the "smell" that I had read about. The only thing is it's small.. I had actually bought it for my boss but it is more for a lady than a man (in my opinion). If you have only a few files or thinner files it's ok. The back inside pocket accommodates several regular lettersize file folders, the front side is wide and allows items several inches wide to sit on the bottom. The front has large roomy pockets with holders for the small things like pens and business cards, cellphone and keys. Additional flat pockets on both front and back are ideal to keep tickets and important things close at hand. I've had many briefcases over the years and this is my favorite. The removable shoulder strap is handy and comfortable.
