It’s a good sharpening stone for its quality/price.
It’s a good sharpening stone. I use it to sharpen pocket knives, EDC knives, wood carving knives, and outdoor knives. For its price, you can expect guaranteed quality. Its price ranges from $12 to $15. You might think it’s small—because it is—but it’s a sharpening stone designed to be carried with you at any time of the day. Compared to larger stones that measure 8-9 inches x 2-3 inches x 0.5 inches with the same 3000-grit range, which cost $40-$100, this one is much more portable. And of course, you can’t easily carry those large stones unless you have a big backpack. I simply use the sides of the stone to sharpen my knives, as well as small chisels and gouges. Buy it—you won’t regret it!

Does the job
This stone is part of the small curved whetstone series from naniwa of which i also have the 1000. The 1000 is quite soft and gouges easily but this stone is denser and harder so the issue of gouging, while still somewhat present due to the nature of the shape, is much more manageable and not as noticeable. Its a soaking stone so there is a wait to use it but it takes the water in pretty quick and holds it well thanks to the density. Leaves a decent finish on the edges of those pesky concave blades. Speed about what a 3000 grit would cut at. Do not use the chosera 3000 as reference though because the chosera is a lot better as a stone though it useless for the concave blade for which this was made for. Itll get the job done just make sure to re-profile after every use with a diamond plate

Brilliant for turbine shaft and precision turbine component bore repair stoning.
These stones have ideal profiles and dimensions for turbine maintenance work and they survive hard use.

Nannie’s makes great synthetic stones. Great price on these shaped stones.
Price to value ratio is very high. Similar CBN coated stones cost 10x as much. Quality is high from Naniwa.

It was larger than expected but regardless it sharpens my tools well enough, I am happy with this. It arrived pretty late due to unknown reasons (likely due to how remote I live,) but befor I got the product i spoke the the costumer service for details and they were pretty Nice.
