Review: Can't beat for outdoors watch for the money - Great outdoor watch for the money. I got it primarily for backpacking, so the sunrise/sunset and moon data is useful. It's not as large as Casio's other more complex sensor watches, and a fraction of the price. I paired this with a Suunto clip on compass. Perfect compliment to the watch. Watch pros: Sunrise, sunset within a few minute accuracy, calculated from your lat/long and GMT offset, which you manually enter. In addition to the sunrise, sunset time screen, there's a constant-on graphical readout of sunset, sunrise on the time screen. And your progress through the day/night is graphically represented also. Auto illumination: I was skeptical but it is very convenient. It auto illuminates any time you hold the watch at a normal angle to read the time. Visible readout, fairly large numbers. Not a huge watch but not so small that it looks wimpy. Vibrating alarm is selectable over the chime alarm. Outdoor look, but also ok for casual work environments, etc. not much of a dress watch thank goodness. Cons: The backlight could stay on a bit longer. Not objectionable short but you have to be ready to read the info you want. Would be nice if the backlight stayed on while subsequent mode buttons were being pressed, nitpick only. The fishing memos aren't really intuitive to me. Might just be my not taking the time to figure it out. Would be nice to have a timer. All of these cons are pretty well negated for me due to the low price. Review: great watch but packaging needs work - I purchased this for my husband. This will be is second Casio Pro Trek. The reason being is that the dial part on the face broke off on his first one. It is most likely because he was hard on it. My complaint is not about the watch but how it was sent in a damaged ripped up Casio box, like I received the last one in the bottom of a clearance bin. Thank goodness it works, but this is a gift, it looks like I didn't give it much thought, just like the person that sent it in the first place...

Watch is great... band is not so good, there is another band that fits
I have purchased two Casio Pathfinder watches in the last 3 or four years. The watches are great, the crystal is protected from scratching and I am rough on my watches. The bands are not so good, they wear out in about a year and a replacement band is almost as expensive as replacing the watch and band. The bands are buckle or velcro and are much too long for my wrist (they look bad any way you trim them). I purchased this band ( Mens Rubbertech (TM) Silicone Rubber Watchband Stainless Steel Deployment Buckle - by JP Leatherworks ) hoping to modify it to fit the Pathfinder watches. I used a Dremel type tool to narrow the watch mount a little and an exacto blade to cut the center out of the band(where it mounts to the watch). It worked perfectly! The band seems strong enough with its center removed and it looks and feels better than the factory bands, plus it fits!!! I'll try to attach a picture soon. The silicone rubber band cuts easily so be careful and take it slow. It's been almost 6 months since I replaced the band and it is still like new! No tears or wear. It does not collect dirt like the original. The clasp is still like new, actually the watch shows more wear than the band! I am hard on my watch, and this combination has held up great!

Why won't anyone one else put a vibrate alarm on a watch?
I love this watch so much I have bought four of them. Not because the first one I bought wore out, but because I was worried that they would discontinue it. I work in a high noise area, and was missing breaks / lunch / end of the day because I couldn't hear my alarm. So, with the five alarms in this watch, I have at least known it was break time, even if I was too busy to take it. My wrist is 7" and there are still 2 holes on the band to make it even smaller, so I'm not sure what 7.5" wrist guy was talking about. Anyway - the moon phase/tide stuff is cool, although I don't really use it My main reason for loving this watch is the vibrate alarm and the water resistance.

Great watch at a great price.
I don't like to review any of my purchases within a week or two after I purchased a product. I now have used this watch for over a year. I am very pleased as you can see from my rating. It goes on your wrist very easy. More important it stays on your wrist. It keeps great time and after a small learning curve it is easy to program. The cover does not scratch easily and mine is in great condition. It never has left my wrist except when I am sleeping at night. The best thing about this watch is it is very inexpensive. The only negative is the wrist ban is getting a little worn at the point I attach the pin to it's appropriate hole when attaching it to my wrist. When I need to because of this problem I'll just buy a new watch. This is the only watch I will wear from now on.

AWESOME!
COOLEST WATCH EVER!!! This is the second one I have owned. Bought it for gifts too. Even if you don't fish, the moon/sun tracking, vibrate alarm, memo capacity, and super bright backlight..... the features are amazing. Not my favorite style, I'd prefer a metallic watch, but it's not ugly. I will replace the band with something else eventually... eventually the leather will start to stink when it gets wet. Its awesome BUY it for the features!!! You wont find anything like this even in much more expensive watches. OH and there is a hunting version too if you prefer.

Terrific watch, but large.
Pros: 5 vibrating daily alarms, great for taking meds. Terrific band. Not that difficult to set up, but it does a lot therefore it has a lot of instructions. Cons: Very large. I can't button my long sleeve shirts around it. I would recommend it to family and friends. Unfortunately I lost it and I have a Timex Expedition, but when that goes, I'll buy another PAS400-5V.

OCD? Then this is the watch for you my friend!
I'm a bit OCD so this watch is perfect for me. It took some reading and re-reading for me to figure out all of its functions. I'm still trying to figure all the little dots around the inner most circle. I'm not a fisher woman, but i think i might end up buying a pole just to test the reliability of this watch. The moon cycle is a great addition to this mix. I just wished the alarms had a mon - fri alarm instead of just setting each day as a weekly alarm or having it be a daily alarm. That's okay! I guess i just have to remember to turn it off before fri night. All in all, It fits me well and i have thin wrists. The band is very comfortable and dries quickly. Definitely worth the money! I've been wearing it for two days and I' already looking forward to my next one! Great job, casio!
