Easy, effective workout
This was officially my first home fitness equipment purchase. I researched many, many rowing machines for a period of 3 weeks. i noticed at my old gym that they used this brand and saw good reviews on it, so i purchased it. The unit seems to be very sturdy. The seat is fairly comfortable and the velcro foot straps securely hold my feet during the workout. Probably one of the biggest things i noticed during my workout is how relatively quiet the machine is. My workouts thus far feel very good. I'm only at resistance lvl 1, but i feel as though i'm getting a very effective workout after every use. A slight drawback is the screen for the machine. It is very inaccurate in counting calories burned, but it does have a timer on it, which is really all i wanted.Assembly of the machine was not as easy as i would have liked. The instructions lacked in detail and the pictures provided were very lackluster. I will compliment PCE though. I gave them a call when i was having difficulty assembling the machine and they were very polite and courteous to walk me through it. I didn't even have to provide them with a serial number or anything, they just helped me.If your a novice to rowing such as me and are wanting to find a very effective machine to get a solid workout i would recommend this one. I would of liked to of gotten a concept 2, but i just couldn't justify giving that much money for my first rower. For the price, this machine is the best bang for your buck.

RW1000 rowing machine
Having only used it once so far I will have to return later should there be issues, however so far everything has gone well. The RW1000 arrived more quickly than promised in excellent shape, packaged well in two separate boxes. The 4 feet you can see swivel to sit flat on the floor (I also purchased a mat, you should consider that as well to protect your floor and reduce dust getting in the machine). Assembly was easy, it took 30 minutes without rushing, and it came with all tools needed to complete the task. The most difficult part was actually bolting the seat to its mount, as the slide moves VERY smoothly and easily - I only pinched my fingers once. The assembly directions were plenty clear, although I'd have appreciated some guidelines as to tightening torque for each bolt.Speaking of guidelines, this product came with no directions for use. I am sure that can be found quite easily on the internet, but I would have appreciated some pointers regarding proper technique from the factory. There are no routines or anything included.

Good Rowing Machine for the Price
I bought this rowing machine several months ago and have been very pleased over all. My doctor recommended a rowing machine for cardio exercise that was not weight bearing on my knees. My knees were getting bad enough that I could not walk or treadmill fast enough to get my heart rate up where I wanted it for a workout. You can get a really good work out with this machine. It has 5 levels of resistance; I am up to the third level. It seems well made and is sturdy. I have been using it for several months and have no doubt that it will last several years. The foot straps hold your feet tightly. The seat and seat wheels work well. The rower folds up for storage and it rolls easily. You can workout in the middle of a room and store it in a closet or corner.I have two issues that made me give it a 4 star rating rather a 5 star. The most serious issue is that the "computer" display only worked some of the time when I first got the rower and now does not work at all. This does not affect the quality of the workout you get with the machine. It doesn't bother me, but if you want to know strokes per minute or distance, this would be a problem. The other minor issue is that the wheels are a hard black plastic that left marks on the slate floor. They are not a problem on carpeted areas. I solved the problem by gluing a strip a carpet to the wheels. It rolls safely on any floor surface now.Overall, I am very happy with this rowing machine. You can get a very good workout and it appears that it will last a long time under normal use.

DO NOT BUY - TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY - NOT FUNCTIONAL, DECEIVING, AND NOT SAFE.
Worst product I have purchased through Amazon thus far. I used to row in college and was hoping to get my own rowing machine because I was moving overseas and wanted something that 1) wasn't an issue with the electricity 2) didn't weigh a lot and 3) was going to give me a great workout since I am super active and also train to do 1/2 marathons. I spent a good month doing research and thought I did enough and finally decided on this product. The product was delivered to me (in 2 boxes) about a month or so ago. I didn't even open the box (which I completely regret I didn't do) and it was shipped in its original boxes along with my other personal items. So today, my items arrived and I was thrilled that I would be able to use the machine. Once it was installed I now see how HORRIBLE this machine is and what a complete waste of money. 1) The bar is not even and it is on an incline (as you will see in the pictures) and trust me I played around with it (along with about 5 other men) and there was no way to fix this. If this how it is supposed to be (btw I've never seen a rowing machine look like that) it clearly does not match the diagram that is part of the installation kit. 2) You can barely pull on it without the main body (let's call it the motor) lifting up. The machine almost toppled over me and it isn't safe. 3) It slides - regardless if you put it on a mat and 4) the resistance is minimal - that's if you are even able to pull on it for a bit without the motor lifting up, practically hitting your shins, and toppling over you and slide. So now I'm stuck with a paperweight that I just want to throw out the window. Sadly because of my logistics, I am about 80% sure it will be difficult for me to ship back. This was completely deceiving and a HUGE waste of money. I can't express how incredibly upset I am over this machine.
