This CV axle is an exact fit for the 2003 Chevrolet LT1500 4.8L V8. I’m sure it works for several year models, but this one is mine. There are excellent removal/installation videos on YouTube. You can take the old one off by simply removing the tire and, using an extension and impact rated socket, remove the old unit. It took almost as long to get the tire off and back on as it did to swap the axle if you’re using impact tools. This CV axle addresses the click and grease leakage common in an axle that’s going bad. Performance is to be determined, as I’ve only put about 100 miles on the truck since replacement, but torque everything down to specs (German torque specs don’t count) and you should be good to go. Price was better than local parts houses even though it’s the same brand I’ve seen them carry. Would recommend.

I would have rated lower if allowed. I began noticing a growling noise and a popping or clicking while turning the steering wheel around 1 year and a couple months after installing. After closer inspection I noticed a lot of cracking around the boots as well. DON’T make the mistake I did thinking since the manufacturer’s warranty is linked directly to the listing that CARDONE will honor it in any way. Amazon first said they would contact the seller if I was unable to get a resolution through the manufacturer which was the case. Then Amazon told me since it was over a year that they would not be able to help me and contacting the manufacturer was the only choice I had. I reached out to CARDONE once again and they said to go back to the seller. I hope this review helps anyone out there thinking about buying cheap aftermarket parts. I would go with a different manufacturer and I would definitely purchase somewhere else besides Amazon because there are some sellers out there that will honor the limited lifetime warranty or whatever it may be from the manufacturer. Just not AMAZON. Cardone did at least say thanks for letting us know.

I was good quality so I used it and unplugged the antilock until I can find a outer joint with a ring to put on it

Fit a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3l four wheel drive, took 30 minutes to replace.

It fits right. Alot of the local shops have a "New Design" but do not carry the original design. This worked out great. I tested the density they are a touch tougher than stock. Not by much, but enough to throw the needle. As long as there are no noticable defects it is a good part. I would asse by the density test you wouldn't have to worry about part porosity or cold shut. It is machined to a good finish with no process start stop lines. Came in earlier than the estimated shipment.

Worked and fit perfectly about a three beer installation

Came nicely packaged, not leaking or damaged. The nut and spindle thread are exact OEM, as opposed to other brands I've used that have a different thread and larger nut. Hopefully it lasts as long as OEM.
