This movie would fit perfectly. Nobody's gonna win any Academy Awards; but, the camera work, lighting etc will certainly be a resume enhancer to break in/move up to "A" list films for all involved in the production values. Basically they shot the whole thing on 3 main sets, and two small one; plus a brief tent scene. So kudo's to the techie side and the cast was ABOVE par for the course in an Indie slasher. HEY at a 1.99$ I really felt I got my moneys worth in A GOOD WAY. I wish all the cast and crew good luck in the future; they really did a nice job. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exciting Throwback Horror Film *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2019* Purgatory Road is an exciting new indie horror film that I really enjoyed. I've always been a fan of original, quality horror flicks, so I was eager to check this one out. Purgatory Road involves religion, the deep south, and some really creepy characters that came together for an enjoyable ride that felt like a throwback to horror flicks from decades past. I personally value creativity and originality the most (over a big budget) in watching horror films and this film definitely delivered. I have to say that this film is not for the faint of heart, but I personally prefer that horror films really go for it instead of wasting my time on some overly restrained horror film. I'm very interested in seeing what director Mark Savage does next. If you're into good indie horror films, I'd highly recommend watching Purgatory Road. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow *by L***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2019* Purgatory Road is a good film that didn't progress how I expected. To avoid any spoilers I'll keep this brief and say that the necrophilia indications led me to believe the film was going to end very differently than it did. No one can love or hate with more passion than the insane, this is true in this film and true in life. Mary Francis (Trista Robinson) is truly a piece of work and the good Father Vincent (Gary Cairns) should have known better considering what happened to him as a kid. Mary looked a little too similar to the robber for him to be so easily smitten with Mary in my opinion.
