Genuine GORILLA-LIFT 2-Sided Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist

Great product idea great pricing easy installation and works great helped lift my gate with ease. I would however prefer a little thicker housing spring slipped off by accident with some tension and broke the housing nothing a little weld couldn’t fix but other than that perfect.

Works great, relatively easy install in 3 hours or less. Good instructions and plenty of videos online to watch. My only complaint/remarks is for the price they should include 8-M8x 20mm carriage bolts for those of us that have angle iron sides, 2-1/2 bolts sticking down from your angle iron would look silly and unprofessional. Also using imperial hardware instead of metric would make it easier and more economical to replace missing/lost/ dropped/ replacement / or damaged hardware. M8 carriage bolts aren't readily available in most US locations. For my install instead of spending $13 for 8-M8x20mm carriage bolts at TS, I spent $1.50 for 10- 5/16x1 carriage bolts, 10 -5/16 lock washers, 10 5/16-18 hex nuts. in case I dropped one. Also the instructions should only mention metric hardware since that's what they include.

The lift works amazingly well and is easily installed with simple tools. Ease is dependent on the placement of your rails and the position of your spare tire carrier. But most obstacles are easily overcome. I recommend this lift to anyone needing assistance either letting the gate up or down or both. Two Bulletproof springs are the only mechanical device employed surrounded by the yellow encasement. The lift should last for many years. The lift makes your gate almost weightless. I can highly recommend it.

Well worth the price and labor to install. I only wish that they would include curved hardware to make installation on a pipe frame more secure.

Allow me to start with if I could give 10 Stars - I would While this is certainly more expensive than the other knock offs here on Amazon - I bought one and sent it back within a few hours it was junk and pulled the trigger on this one. The installation instructions are excellent - easy to follow and very easy to understand. Take your time and it will be flawless - I am very handy so this wasn't a tough install at all. The only thing I did was fabricate some additional angle iron on the lift gate to assure the bolt was beyond 2nd guessing when being used. The fit and finish is amazing Safety - lets talk that for a moment - when properly adjusted (this will take a few attempts to get correct) this unit is beyond excellent - it drops smoothly and slowly with total control and lifts the exact same way The rear lift on my new trailer I am told weighs about 200-250 lbs and while leverage is your friend this Lift system is your family. I literally bought my new trailer and within 12 hours was putting this on it, Yes I bought it PRE-DELIVERY of my trailer. Do not let the $$ amount sway you it is worth EVERY PENNY!!!

This lift gate has worked great. One person can easily raise and lower this. It is sturdy and operates smoothly.

It’s a good tailgate lift helper , however I’ve had to replace the both cables over the years ( about 6) , but it doesn’t allow me to lay the ramp down on the deck now
