I was tossing pieces around on my bed to get to the pieces I needed, and had no damage to any piece. If it were that flimsy, it certainly would have broken a piece. It IS particle board, not hardwood, so I wouldn't load it too heavy, but it seems to be pretty sturdy so far. I'm waiting for my CNA's to put my cloth cubby bins on the shelves, so hopefully I won't have any problems there. I doubt I will. And like they said, put heavy items on the bottom shelf. **Q: size of book case** A: Well, the dimensions are in the Product Details section. **Q: What is the thickness of the board? Thanks.** A: Yes, it is thin, so you have to be very careful what you put on the shelves. Good value for money and comes with a couple of spares too ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice, neat bookcase *by .***. on 6 April 2023* I'm very happy with this bookcase; for the price, it is good value for money, sturdy and would fit well in several spaces. I am considering ordering more to use as in-cupboard shelving, for instance. This was for the living room so I bought it in blue, which is true to the pictures online. Although it says it needs two people to assemble ideally, I'm a 57-year-old arthritic woman and I did this alone in around 30 minutes with no assembly problems. Admittedly though, I do love a bit of flatpack. To keep clutter to a minimum, I also paired this with a couple of Amazon Basics Collapsible Fabric Storage Cubes with Oval Grommets from a set of 6 which fitted reasonably well with only a little overhang (see photo, items for size guide only). The only two criticisms I have are one of the larger screws was snapped in half but as I do a lot of DIY, I had one available that I could use with the exact dimensions. The other is that it would be nice if stick-on/over blue covers were provided to hide the screws on the sides of the shelving unit itself as they are a darkish brass against the blue so they do show up.
