### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Bat (Film Chest DVD)

Great campy, murder mystery, played straight starring the great Agnes Moorehead and the equally great Vincent Price. A murderous masked villain known as The Bat lurks around a big spooky mansion rented by Moorehead, who plays a mystery writer. Price and a host of other suspicious characters are prime candidates who could be The Bat. Great twangy jazz theme music. Not to be taken seriously, just have fun with it. That's the secret to enjoying films like this. The new Film Chest DVD release has no extras but the transfer is just fine, even better than the GoodTimes DVD release. The cover art is from the original poster and is a welcome addition. Recommended for fans of campy 50s films.
