Simple, effe ctive and well priced
Straight forward instructions, very simple to set up, once plugged in pair with the app, sign in to existing Wifi, then set a name for the device and a password. Thats it, youre good to go. The signal is brilliant as is the speed. Bought for my Dad as he doesnt have signal upstairs, so this is a life saver, not to mention the amount of money I saved. I was originally looking at a wifi package for upstairs, but thought let me try this and lord am I grateful! Its Easy to set up, decently priced and reliable, it arrived promptly and well packaged.

4 out 5
Easy to set up, provides good quality signal strength in a flat. The lights are bright but there is a LED control on the app which will turn the lights off for the night time so won't disturb people who may want it for a better connection in bedrooms. Speed depends on your main router but after testing it is slightly slower than advertised even with the main router at 270mbps. This repeater is only providing max of 20mbps but it is okay for me as I am using the repeater for devices such as WiFi controls on washing machine, ring doorbell etc which this suffices for. If I needed it for TV, mobile phones etc then the speed/signal strength would not be enough

Good peice of kit
This piece of kit is excellent. It was surprisingly easy to set up well for an old man anyway. I have so much better speeds to the devices that are a fair bit away from the hub. No buffering.. for the price an absolute steal

A basic WiFi extender.
We used to get WiFi dropouts in our upstairs master bedroom. This was frustrating, as despite having a connection frequently we would encounter buffering and disconnects. So I decided to pick up this low cost extender. TP Link are a well respected brand amongst networking and this is their entry level model. This particular model is 300mbps and limited to the 2.4ghz band. It comes packaged in a small cardboard box with minimal excess packaging. The device itself consists of a 3 pin plug and a body that extends outwards and upwards with the antenna inside. The sports a green ring of LED's that are used to show status and signal strength, with a pairing WPS button in the middle. On the base of the device there is a small hole with a reset switch beneath. The extender isn't too bulky but you may experience issues with clearance with some sockets particularly when used alongside plug in PSU's, and in confined spaces. The extender is fairly easy to setup. You can just use the WPS button on your router, connect via a PC or use an app. Annoyingly it uses a different app to TP links Tapo range of smart products. It would be nice if these were integrated and allow it to be switched remotely by Alexa. As this doesn't support mesh the SSID will need to be set to something different and switched on your device. . In operation it displays the current WiFi signal and setting can be adjusted via the app or from a PC. So how does it perform? Pretty much as it should do. It solved our deadspot problem and we didn't experience any drop outs. Since then we have changed our router and it has essentially become redundant. Comparing it to our new router at the same range there is a slight drop in speed at 2.4ghz. Now I plan to use it to extend the WiFi to the shed and garden. It does pretty much what you expect it to at an incredibly low price. If that's all you need then great. However for not a lot more you can buy an extender that retains your socket and adds an ethernet port. A little again and you can buy one that adds the 5GHZ band and is capable of meshing. So consider what you need before buy and check what's on offer.

Excellent, easy to set up
This worked on my Plusnet Hub Two, connected very quickly using the WPS button (on the front, inside the ring of leds). You can ignore the instructions about setting up a TP Link account etc - just plug in, wait 30 seconds, press WPS button on your router, wait a few seconds, press the WPS on the extender. The password is the same as that for the router you are extending.

Can break your entire network. (Read this if your devices suddenly stop connecting)
This extender worked fine for several months, and then one day, my two laptops (one plugged directly into the main router, the other on Wi-Fi) completely lost internet access. They couldn't load most web pages, though some (like Google) still worked. Bizarrely, my phone connected to the Wi-Fi just fine. I spent days troubleshooting. I reset my laptops, I ran every network diagnostic, I reinstalled drivers, I even had my ISP (BT) send me a brand new router, and the problem still wouldn't go away. After all that, I discovered this TP-Link extender was the culprit. The moment I unplugged it from the power, both of my laptops instantly connected and all problems were solved. The problem was that the software on this extender started handing out bad IP addresses, blocking my other devices and preventing them from getting a real IP address from my main router. It didn't matter that one laptop was wired; the faulty extender was on the same network (via Wi-Fi) and intercepted its connection request. My phone just got lucky by connecting to the real router first. If your computers suddenly stop working but your phone is fine, do this one simple test before you waste days troubleshooting: Unplug this TP-Link extender from the wall power. Restart your computers. If they connect, this device is your problem.

It works very well. The installation is a bit confusing, but you can figure it out by searching online.

Easy to set up and helped fill the weak spots in my house, mainly upstairs. Speeds aren’t crazy fast but solid for browsing and streaming. Worth it if your WiFi drops off at the edges of your place.
