This kit is definitely a high quality product with the most reasonable price. You can go to a super high-end brand to get one like tihs for a much higher price, but I believe the products are pretty much the same. For a photographer, every little part in this kit is important. What makes me happy is that this product shows that the manufacturer is aware of its importance to us. The price is cheap, but not the quality.

This was my first light kit purchase, so I had my skepticism, especially given the price. But despite that, I'm a beginner yet still wanted some quality lighting at a good price.This light kit knocks it out of the park! I use this primarily to put auditions on tape, and it more than fits the bill. I am very impressed by the quality of the stands and umbrella, they seem very sturdy. The actual sockets seem to be a strong plastic, as does the metallic socket ring which houses the bulbs - but as other reviewers mentioned - I would be a tad more delicate in handling these components, as I'm sure they would break if you do something terrible. But if you're just setting up the lights in a stationary position - this is great!I use a Canon Rebel T4i in manual video mode, adjust the ISO and aperture, and throw on these babies - the quality is INSANE. I even put my iPhone video on the tripod, and quality was almost as good as my Canon (but not quite... duh, Rebel > iPhone).I only deduct one star because of the carrying case. The fact that it comes with one is great! The fact that if you fit everything in it, including the umbrellas, the zipper can't close. And why should I carry my umbrellas separately? They're part of the kit. It's not rocket science - just make the carrying case two inches bigger and everyone's happy.This is worth it though, seriously. Quality is amazing...

I am overall happy with my umbrella kit purchase. The background support and muslin cloth backdrops are super easy to use and set up. They do require some steaming, though, to get the wrinkles out from the factory. This is expected from shipping as well. If you read the Fovitec blog, it will give you tips on how to get the wrinkles out-- (http://blog.fovitec.com/product-photography/get-muslin-background-wrinkle-free/). Very helpful! The umbrellas are a way better quality then others I have seen and can be used with lots of other lights, so they will get used.

Not a fan AT ALL! I have no experience whatsoever, so when I ordered beginner equipment, I expected it to come with instructions. Instead there's a post card to visit their website and watch a YouTube video on putting it together. Ok, I'm already annoyed. Go to their videos, and the isn't one for what I purchased!!!! I refuse to order anything else, EVER, from Fovitec.

This kit is exactly what I expected. I needed something small and simple to set up in my living room for YouTube videos and this did the job well. The nice thing is you can match the color of the CFL with your overhead light to get a simple 3-point lighting setup. All of the material is fairly durable and not too light. Would I use it for a freelance setup? Yes, but I wouldn't be surprised if it broke. Don't expect any frills. It came with one bag that only fits the stand for the backdrop and it's cheaply made. All in all, if you are looking for something affordable that is fairly dependable, it's a good purchase.

I take a lot of indoor photos and thought this would be perfect for my shoots. IT DEFINITELY IS! All the light fixtures are decent quality. Perfect kit for a small or home studio. One tip, you can switch out the light bulbs with 65w or 85w if you need more light. The whole kit fits in the carrying case that comes with. Good value.

This Studio Kit is a great way for any photographer to immediately increase their options and professionalism. You will need to iron the fabric, and it is folded for shipping. Assembly is easy enough and will take 20 minutes at most the first time and much less after that. The lights are decent, although you will probably want longer cords, as they are not very long (About 9ft). I would have like to have seen about 20 feet on the cords, but this is easy to overcome with extension cords. My favorite aspect of this kit is that everything but the lights fits into the bag. You can even put the lighting umbrellas into the bag, so all you ave left are the two light stands themselves. I wish they would have also included a second smaller bag for the lights, but for the price, this is a good deal.

This is a great kit for beginners who have a limited budget. For the price, the product is amazing. It was surprisingly fast delivered and everything came well packaged and intact. I thought the quality would not be good, because it was much cheaper than some high end products. Well, now I think there is no need to buy those crazily expensive stuff even after I become rich, for this one is good enough to keep for a while.
