Having an older truck with giant slabs of paint i never really needed a smaller pad. I also ordered the Griots Garage 3" pads for this backing plate - orange, red, and black. The backing plate seems very well made and sturdy. Hopefully will give me many years of use. I used this plate on my CG Torq DA to work some defects from my wifes CRV paint. The griots orange with some Meguiars polish followed by the black pads with BF sealant. Unit did not hang up, and pads were still perfect. Backing plate held up great. Also used this plate on a friends headlights. They just wanted to correct the hazing enough to sell the car. Used metal polish on a black pad and did two rounds.
