The Archaeology of Disease

Really nice book and came in a very nice condition!

This was a detailed quality scientific exploration into disease states and their effects on the skeleton. Personally I learned about why bovine tb destroyed my grandfathers ability to walk. If you are looking at “individual case studies” this book isn’t for you. I found this book to be enlightening and interesting.

I have the 2nd edition but as am about to start masters in paeloanthropology, as it involves paleopathology, I thought I should get the latest 3rd edition. It arrived today. I have been flicking through it and what a wonderful update. It is almost like a new book with so much more in it. There are many good things about the update but one of the nice things is there is much more inclusion of cultural and environmental issues.Many new editions are just minor changes of the previous one, but this is a total revamp and expansion of the previous edition. Well done to the authors. It is a wonderful book and a fascinating read.
