High Quality Professional Grade Handmade Natural Rattan Cane Bread Proofing Banneton Brotform Basket w/ Linen LinerRATTAN AND CANE - Rattan is a tropical palm tree from Southeast Asia that grows as vines and is one of the strongest woods available. Cane is a part of the rattan plant, which is produced by simply peeling off the skin of the rattan vine. One great quality of cane is that it is less porous than softer woods. This means that it easily repels liquids and moisture, which can just be wiped off. We use 100% natural, no-chemical, unbleached rattan cane measuring over 8mm in diameter, which is thicker and stronger than inferior materials used by many substandard competitors. Environmentally friendly, non-toxic and food-safe.EASY TO USE - Dust the proofing basket with flour, including the bottom and sides. Do this over a cloth, your flour bucket or a wastebasket, as much of the flour will sift through. It is also recommended that you keep a cloth or baking sheet under the basket while moving it, and when the bread is rising, to catch any excess flour. Once fully risen, the dough easily drops onto your baking surface. For proofing very wet doughs, as called for with popular no-knead recipes, the optional linen liner has been included. Working flour (rice flour is particularly effective) into the linen liner will help to easily release wet dough.EASY TO CLEAN – Your basket should not need much cleaning. Simply shake the excess flour out after each use. If dough has stuck to the basket or liner, wait until it dries fully, then use a stiff, dry brush to scrape it off. If, for some reason, you feel you need to clean your basket (or before the first use!) use a stiff brush and warm water (no soap!) and allow it to air dry at room temperature. While it is preferable to hand wash the linen liner, it is machine washable (on a gentle cycle), but not recommended for the dryer, air dry only.
