HOMZ 1945063 Replacement Cover and Pad for Standard Width Ironing Board, 13-15" W x 53-55" L, Sage Green

I've been looking for ages for a new cover for my great old Proctor ironing board. While most covers say that they fit 54x15 inch boards, they don't allow for the thickness of the board. For an older board with a top half an inch thicker than new boards the covers don't wrap around so that they can be secured with either a draw string or elastic. Most covers are made by the companies that make the boards. (Proctor no longer makes boards.) The covers fit their boards which have thinner tops. Apparently they think that people should discard sturdy older boards and buy their flimsy new boards.Whatever, during a recent stay at a hotel I noticed that the ironing board in my room was thicker than the average board. I measured it and then asked the manager what kind of covers they used. He told me that they used Homz. Well, it turned out that my board was still a bit thicker, but I ordered this cover anyway and hoped for the best. It does fit. The elastic just barely wraps around my board, but I have those springs with hooks on the end which pulls it tight. The fabric seems quite sturdy.The foam pad is attached to the cover. How this will survive washing is still to be determined. Manufacturers advise against washing their covers. Considering that a good cover should last several years, one would presumably want to wash it at some time.Hint from my Grannie: Save your old cover and use it to cover your new cover when the board is not in use. This will help to keep it clean. Hint from me: If your old pad is in reasonably good condition save it too, just in case the new pad doesn't survive a washing.

The iron board cover was very easy to install. No strings - elastic fit. the cover and padding are one piece and nice and thick. I’d recommend

Fabric is very lightweight but pretty. I had to repair area where string was sewn thru to be able to gather the cover to fit properly but repair was easy. It appears to be washable - a nice feature.

Despite description, too small to fit 13”X 53” ironing board. Had to return.

Needed to ironing board cover and this was just a perfect fit. I measured my ironingboard looked at their size description and ordered cute yellow patterned one. Itarrived in a day and was the perfect fit. Well made and cuter than any I couldpurchase locally. Would definitely recommend this cover.

I needed a new board cover. The previous one was burnt out and I threw it out when we moved. This is well padded and beautiful in color in person. I’m satisfied with my purchase. 😊

It’s cute, but I can’t get it to fit snugly. This will probably be more annoying when I’m back to ironing every day, but for my minimal lockdown needs it’s ok.

Does the job and improves the look at low cost. Ropes instead of elastic so a little harder to install but once settled, all good. Used it a few times and so far so good.
