Kotobukiya Armored Core VUCR-10/A Vengeance Plastic Model Kit

I would like to start this review by saying that I have not completed building this model yet, but there are no other reviews, so I want there to be at least something here. I will update this review when the model is complete. The box itself was much larger than I expected. I have mostly worked with Gundam models, and this was my first Armored Core kit that I bought on a whim when I felt I needed something more challenging to build. Although 650 pieces is a lot, this model does not use all of them. Instead, there are enough pieces to build two torsos and heads, which you can mix and match depending on what one you like best. I am still very new to this hobby, and will leave out anything about painting the pieces, as I don't feel comfortable enough trying such a task on so many small pieces. My only minor complaint is how the racks that contain all of the pieces are packaged. They come in plastic packets of two and each rack is given a letter of the alphabet, as most model kits go. However, instead of rack A and B being in one bag, C and D in the next, etc. it seems to be random and/or color-coded. So if D and J are black pieces, they go in one bag. As I said, it's a minor complaint and was easily remedied by putting them in labeled Ziploc bags. Overall I am very much enjoying this model.

Small, but awesome!

相変わらずのパーツの細かさ、そしてクオリティの高さ。 付属のグラインドブレードは圧巻のボリュームで、機体本体を超えるほどのパーツ量と重量を誇ります。作り甲斐があり過ぎる。 武器各種の色分けはあまりされていないので、軽く塗装するだけでも見違えるほど迫力が増します。 気になる点としては、可動範囲の狭さが挙げられます。 ボールジョイントが採用されていないのもそうですが、何よりもパーツ同士の干渉が激しい為、ガンプラ等と比べると「人間らしいスマートなポージング」をとることは難しいでしょう。 まあ「ロボらしいぎこちなさ」や「鈍臭さ」も「ACシリーズらしさ」ですので、そこまで大きな問題点とはならないでしょう。 総じて完成度の高いプラモデルです。
