I see you JBL
I previously had a West Coast Customs dual 10 inch sub and amp. Had it since 2014 and recently decided to upgrade the amp with a RockFord Fosgate amp which made the subs sound better than they previously did but something was off and did not sound right to me. Decided to return the Fosgate amp and throw the subs to my local thrift store. I came upon this JBL sub while looking for a new one. I could not believe the price so I did some research on it and liked what I saw so I took a swing and bought it. Arrived in excellent condition since it was double boxed. Comes with a remote to adjust the level from your sitting position but I do not want to use it. I used the previous 4awg cable I already have installed but unfortunately the wire is to thick for the input on the amp so I cut some of the wire off to make it fit. I don't think that is the right thing to do but desperate times call for desperate measures. At first I did a sloppy job at cutting and connecting the power cables to the inputs on the amp but it got the job done. Turned the radio on and the sub turned on as well so that was a good sign. At first impressions it sounded good and was exactly what I was looking for. But I was not satisfied with the was I put the power and ground cable to the amp so I took my time and did it right to make sure no cable strands were sticking out. I lowered the level knob a little below half and set the low pass a little above 80hz. Set the high pass filter on the stereo to 90hz so the speakers play nothing below that and holy smokes!! I hit the sweet spot. The bass is so deep and powerful you can feel it in your soul. It's not thumpy or boomy which is what I wanted. It almost sounds as good as my home theater sub. It reflects perfectly off the speakers which is what you want. It should not be directional to the point that you know the bass is coming for the sub in the back. It should sound that it is coming from the speakers. Never have I bothered with JBL products but now they have my attention. Definitely worth the money if you are looking for an all in one package. Nice and compact size and definitely excellent sound quality if you take your time to adjust it.

Great All In One Subwoofer and Amp Combo
The JBL GT-BassPro12 is a very nice all in one subwoofer. The subwoofer feels well made. Thick plastic, soft outer ring all lend to a durable feel. The metal bars over the sub look great, but are not there just for looks. These bars are strong and will protect the sub from items coming in contact with the sub. I find this particularly helpful keeping groceries in the trunk from destroying or denting my cone. The carpet is smooth and well fitted with a short nap. The amplifier is 150 watts RMS and built into the rear of the enclosure. It looks small in the photo, but remember that's a 12" sub. It is a large and heavy box. The controls are all on the rear, but a really nice touch is the remote gain. By running CAT5 cable to the front of your vehicle, you get remote control of the sub's level gain. So much more convenient than popping the trunk pulling sub forward, tweaking, then pushing back in position. You can use both line level inputs or speaker level inputs. With speaker tie in, there is an automatic on/off feature that sense when the sub should power on. This avoids the remote power on wire. I used the traditional RCA cables to bring signal to the amp. Being all in one mad for a super fast install. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to add bottom end to their audio listening experience. It will not blow the windows out of the car next to you. I was surprised by the volume and quality from only 150 watts. Great sub.

Legitimately one of the best ive installed at this price point.
Purchased this and a Dual brand install kit. The install kit was trash. Cheap CCA wire and weak wire connectors. Its a 6 dollar copper coated aluminum kit disguised as a 30 dollar kit This JBL Harmon (Of Harman Kardon) 12" dual coil sub and 150 watt Harman amplifier is a SbS home run! (SbS - single box solution) just dont get the 29.95 Dual install kit. - total junk- Unboxing reveals a 12" tuned and ported JBL Box with sub and amp built in. Install was in 2014 Taurus Police Interceptor, installed by running RCA inputs to both rear speakers, jumpered the blue (amp on/off wire) directly to positive terminal, turned the auto turn on switch to on, ran a 4 ga power wire from batt to amp, ground strap to rear decklid Boom! Green lite came on and this setup blew us away. Crisp clear 40 to 350hz adjustable bass, line level adjust and bass boost and this setup legitimately banged pretty hard. At its price point it is a winner! Youre not gonna win competitions with it,, but as a one box solution for ANY base model that needs some serious low end boost, look no further! Its quite impressive! Make sure you have a solid direct to battery connection and a solid less than a few feet ground and youll have enough power to run it well. The killer of setups like these is clipping from poor power supply conditions - that crackle when bass hits, contrary to popular belief- isnt too much power, its too little, and that will smoke the voice coils fast. Give it clean power and signal and dont expect windshield expanding bass notes (but good solid trunk rattling bass regardless) and you will be quite happy for the price. This is my 5th install of this model, 2014 Interceptor, 2005 Savana Hi Top van, 2010 Tahoe, 2005 Tahoe and 2007 Escalade. Each and every vehicle sounds spectacular! 5 stars for sure!

Amazing Value Subwoofer!
I've used JBL speakers in the past (mostly bluetooth speakers) so when I saw the GT-BassPro12 while looking for a subwoofer to compliment my 2018 Impreza's speaker system, I was immediately intrigued. I was going back and forth between buying a box and speaker and installing it all manually with an amp, but when I ran across this subwoofer it was almost too good to be true. Everything built into one tidy, clean and really good looking box for such a cheap price. After going into CarToys to listen to it, I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. I've been using it for the past few months and I love it. It's super powerful and produces deep, clean, and punchy sounds. As far as capability goes, this thing is more than powerful enough, I keep it very low and yet it's over exceeds what I need. I listen to all types of music, so the included remote is handy to control the levels. It was simple to setup and didn't take much time except for the usual offenders (finding a hole in the firewall and routing cables). I haven't had any issues with the sub going out and it's been working flawlessly. It is a pretty hefty sub so if weight is a concern you may not want to go with this. It's not a deal breaker for me and honestly the weight helps it from sliding around. It doesn't take up too much space in my trunk considering it's a ported box. The back slopes perfectly to allow it to be pushed up against seats to save as much space as possible, which I really appreciate in my rather small car. It's obviously not as portable as a seat-shaker, but for the power it has, you can't beat it. For the price, you just can't beat the JBL GT-BassPro12, definitely recommend to anyone looking for an amazing subwoofer without destroying your wallet! If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out, and I'd be glad to help!

Good sub-woofer for the money
I bought this to go in the back of my 2002 Lexus ES300. I was looking to make the audio in my car deeper and more rich and this was perfect for the job. It hits pretty hard and has good sound quality. However, it isn't that loud. What I mean by this is that it won't rattle the screws out and probably won't wake up the neighbors. It provides loud bass inside the car and you can definitely feel the vibrations but doesn't give the "rattling" feel other subs might. Overall it is definitely worth the price and will improve the factory sound dramatically but if you want super accurate bass (only audiophiles could tell), extremely loud bass, or a sub that can take super low notes with ease, find a sealed sub or one that has a lower frequency range. Pros: great sub for the cost, hard hitting bass, easy to control with the bass knob, good sub for improving bass from factory setup Cons: slightly bulky, no specific tuning frequency for the enclosure/port, doesn't hit low notes as loud or strong (i.e. low notes in Put On by Young Jeezy, On my Level by Wiz Khalifa), high notes don't have as much boom,

You will not be disappointed!!!
Get this right now. If you are looking for something fairly compact (its not tiny by any means), affordable, high quality, and great sounding your search is over. You will not be fitting this under any seats or behind any seats in a pick up, but you won't want to because this thing looks so badass. I have it in my 2007 suburban so I can only speak for the performance of this sub in vehicles like suvs and station wagons or minivans where it will be in the cab with you not n a trunk. Dude....this little thing has full thumping bass. It fills the open space of an suv beautifully. More bass than anyone could hope for out of a single twelve. You definitely will want to tune the speaker when you get it installed. I followed the instructions on tuning that were provided. You might want to have an extra set of hands for that task. The remote sub woofer control is absolutely fantastic. You dont have to fiddle with your equalizer settings just to adjust the bass. Its great for switching between musical genres. Having the amp integrated into the box is a great space and money saver. These components along with the enclosure are all made specifically to work with each other and they work very very well. It can be a pain to find the right enclosure for you subs, with this you dont have to. The super low frequencies can be a little tough but are pretty rare. I cant say enough about this unit. Highly highly recommended.

Great sound at a great price! 2015 Honda Civic Coupe 5-speed
I am extremely satisfied with this sub/amp combo. I installed it in a 2015 Honda Civic Coupe Lx manual transmission. You will need an install kit for the wires. I used the Rockford Fosgate 8 AWG Amplifier Install Kit. If you are installing this in a vehicle with the stock radio, you will also need a line-out converter that taps into the high signals from your rear speaker wires and converts them into lower frequency signals this sub can use. I bought the "PAC SNI-35 Variable LOC Line Out Converter" and it is working really well. Installation is a bit tricky, but this was my first time doing it. You will need to remove some interior panels and splice some wires. There are plenty of videos online detailing every step of the install. I was a little worried this would sound anemic compared to a system with a larger separate amp. That was not the case! It sounds excellent and hits really hard. You can definitely bring the thunder when the situation calls for it. I'm not an audiophile or anything, but I do like having full sound with crisp highs, clear mids, and solid bass. The Honda has great highs and clear mids, but almost no bass. This subwoofer was the perfect missing link. Also, having the remote dial mounted under the dash makes it super easy to make adjustments on the fly. Now I'm thinking about setting up my wife's car with one of these...

Wow - sounds great and hits hard!
Very impressed. JBL did a great job packing so much into such a small package. I bought this as an upgrade for the low end range of the "premium" audio system in my BMW 228i. The HK system sounds really great, but the under-sear shallow woofers are really lacking. I bought this JBL sub for the small form factor, all in one package, and sticking to the 'Harman'ish theme. Install: this was my first car audio sub woofer install since high school, and first time in a car I actually care about (I was a bit nervous...). The connection options and small form really made this install easy. I added some sound deadening material around the trunk and I highly recommend doing the same. This thing packs a punch. Sound: As far as output/volume goes, this WAY exceeded my expectations. I mostly listen to rock, so I probably don't need this much bass, so the volume knob is set to about 15%. Sound quality is about as good as one could expect for a ported sub. I do which the low pass filter had a little more drop off... I'm getting a little more noise in the 80-120Hz range than I want (since I left the under seat woofers installed). Probably will buy an additional filter at some point. Appearance: Looks great, see attached picture. Black carpeting is a perfect match with my trunk. I'm a little on the fence about the cross bars, but at least it will keep the woofer protected when I have a suit case in the trunk...
