Incredible value and quality for the money. You will not be disappointed.
This hardware is elegant, simple, very sturdy and just plain works. Everything does what it is supposed to and does it with no fuss. Yamaha really knows how to build hardware. The elbow and tilting joints are high quality castings and not stamped metal like many other stands. For being single-braced, the stands are easily as stable and sturdy as some of the cheaper double braced stuff out there, even with the boom extended and a heavy, thick ride cymbal on it. The bass drum pedal is about as no-frills as they come, yet with proper spring tension adjustment, it plays quite nicely. It's never going to feel like a high-end pedal, but if you need something that folds up and fits in hardware bag but still plays nicely, this pedal is fine. Snare stand is adjustable in all the right ways and works perfectly for holding my 14x5.5" snares. One very nice touch is that you can fold the snare basket arms up straight for transport/storage without turning the clamp knob. The hi-hat stand is also no frills but works fine and is very stable and solid. The only niggle, and it's a minor one, is the hi-hat spring adjustment is a little too easy to turn the tension down on. It doesn't have quite enough of a "detent" so it's moved while in transport in my gear bag. On the other hand, I particularly like the design of the included hi-hat clutch, though the supplied clutch felts were too thick and I had to tear about 1/8" off of one so the top hi-hat wasn't clamped too tightly, even with the adjustment nuts backed all the way off. I'm able to carry all of this gear, with the stands collapsed and the hi-hat stand top tube removed, in a single 14x36" gear bag. Total weight is probably 40-50 lbs? Great for gigging!

Very good stands
Very good set of hardware. Honestly, I bought the set because for a few extra bucks, I got the snare stand and kick pedal. I was really only interested in the boom stands and hi hat stand. The snare stand is actually pretty nice, so I kept that and will be donating an old snare stand and kick pedal to a school in need. Back to the hardware... very stable, very good. I play mostly jazz, and actually the medium weight might be overkill. Although I do play some outdoor gigs and the extra weight can come in handy, especially if using a large ride. But spreading out the legs and placing one leg directly under the ride cymbal eliminates any wobble. This isn't the lightest stuff in town, but it's classic Yamaha. Hi hat stand is nice, and the adjustment function is a nice touch. Definitely recommend.

Great hardware with one GLARING issue
I love Yamaha hardware – every piece of this pack is well made, lightweight, and yet plenty sturdy. If you are a hard hitter, or if you are on anything less than flat ground, the snare stand will wobble a bit, but otherwise it's all fantastic. Also, if you didn't know this, it's all modular. So you can put your snare basket in the base of one of your cymbal stands and BOOM - instant concert-height snare stand. THE ONE GLARING ISSUE: The hi-hand stand doesn't have a tilt screw on the cymbal cup. This means you can't angle your bottom hat to keep air from being trapped in between the two cymbals. This means that there's little to no chick and very little sizzle when you try to play the cymbals together. NOWHERE is this obvious in any marketing or user manual material. AND you can't buy one to add yourself...because there's no screw hole to put a tilt screw into. I contacted Yamaha about this, and they told me that was just how this cymbal is made. I've NEVER owned a hi-hat stand from any other company – Gibraltar, DW, Gretsch, Pearl, or any others – that hasn't had a tilt screw. Why they wouldn't include this vital little piece of a stand? The pack is great – but be forewarned about the hi-hat stand. You WILL have to replace the entire stand if you really want a high-quality hi-hat experience.

One of the best hardware packs money can buy - Yamaha delivers!
An absolute classic - I have bought several sets of Yamaha hardware over the years and keep coming back for the stability and functionality of this package. I love that it comes with a pedal and the price range is perfect for a secondary set of hardware for gigging or on a practice kit. I have tried the light-weight (both single and double braced) and I can't imagine needing anything else for my theater, jazz and lower volume gigs. If you are a basher, then the medium weight hardware would fit the bill for heavier/louder shows or permanent set-ups. I can't imagine needing anything more. I love that the cymbal boom arms can hide away and I have the option to have a straight cymbal stand if I want. Construction is what you would expect coming from Yamaha. If you are reading this - go ahead and pull the trigger on these!
