Wera - 5003531001 Zyklop 8796 LA Long extension, Square drive 1/4" Head x 150mm Extension

The build quality is evident, excellent. The locking mecanism is good but only works well with wera products.

Great Quality

Nice extension overall, very well made. As another reviewer noted, this does not lock on all sockets. I have found that most of mine do lock, but a couple of sockets do not allow the locking mechanism to function as designed. I am not fully into the Wera "ecosystem", so some of these sockets are apparently not compatible. Not a huge deal, but one that someone considering this might want to know. Now, when it does work (most of the time) it works well. The little button for locking is recessed in the extension, so I use my thumbnail to operate it, you may not need to. The socket is locked on firmly when it is in the green/locked position. I didn't care too much for the plastic (it seems cheap, and makes the overall impression seem cheap to me) sleeve on the extension. I guess it's there as a "spinner" type sleeve, so you can hold the extension while it turns. Didn't do much for me, your mileage may vary, as they say. Overall, it's nice, but I doubt I would buy it again. I do love most Wera stuff I have, just not this one, so much.

It really does lock good and tight, the button is on both sides. one side has red color around button on grey metal, and the other side green color on metal around button. Push the pin in on red side and it is locked, turn to see the other side with the green color, and push pin in and the locking mechanism is now NOT engaged to remove or install a socket or other extension. The pin to push in is a little stiff when the item is new, but as you use it does get easier to pin in, but it does not get loose, the pin stays in until you push the other side of the pin inward. Sort of like an old style lamp switch. push in from one side and light bulb turns on, push in the other side and light bulb goes out. The plastic sleeve is OK, but with male hands and fingers being the size they normally are I can only hold the plastic with three fingers. Total length is near 6 inches for this 150mm extension, The black plastic sleeve to enable holding it in place and turning the ratchet to tighten or loosen the bolt or nut is 2 3/4 in length. The black sleeve does NOT slide up and down in the shaft. And the button does NOT stick out to get in the way or hit things as your using the extension. It sicks out only about 1/64 of an inch, and with a socket on = it is so close to the actual socket I really don't see how it can catch on anything as you use the extension. A GREAT LOCKING EXTENSION, Just wish the sleeve was longer to accommodate larger fingers. My grip size about 3 1/2 inches, the sleeve 2 3/4 inches.

Works good with a lock

Good quality 1/4” extension bar for your 1/4” ratchet, fits in the Wera maintenance set well if you have one of those which only comes with the short extension bar. Worth noting as other people have that this is not a “flexible” extension as in bendy in the middle, so if that’s what your looking for then look elsewhere I believe they mean the extension has “ flexibility” in the sense it can be used in lots of applications I think that’s what there getting at, but to be clear this is solid piece of metal with a black plastic collar around the middle which gives you something to hold while the bar is turning. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a 1/4” extension, reasonably priced good quality item

Works good on recessed nuts or bolts where the socket popping off the extension would pose a retrieval problem.

ソケットが抜けないようにロックできるエクステンションバーです。 同じWeraのサイクロップラチェット8000Aとの組み合わせでも、かなりガタを感じます。 KTCの1/4ハンドルBHM2だとピタッと嵌りぐらつきも無く、スリーブ持って気持ちよく回ります。Weraよりフィット、なぜだｗ ソケットは、上からFLAG、TONE、SK11、Wera純正の8790HMA、いずれもスムーズにロックでき、普通に使えます。FLAGとTONEのソケットはロックすればほぼガタも無く好印象ですが、SK11とWera純正のソケットはかなりぐらつきます。 普通のエクステンションバーと同様、ボールでソケットをホールドする機能があるので、ロックしないで使うこともできます。 残念な点： ロックボタンが解除方向に動きやすく、まれに作業中にロックが外れることがありました。 全体的に嵌合が緩い感じで、国産ツールのカチッとした感じはありません。あえてこうしてるのか？特にラチェット側は相性が出やすいようで、Straightのスピンナーディスク10-2201の嵌合部を薄く削って間に噛ませたりしてます。 スリーブは接触抵抗高めで回転し続けるような感じではありません。
