Moen M Pact PosiTemp Pressure Balancing Brass Tub and Shower Valve with IPS Connections, 2510

I used this valve for my new Moen shower during my bathroom remodel and it worked perfectly. My old valves were 15 years old, and this replacement was very inexpensive, came directly from the manufacturer, and arrived much faster than it would have from a big box store. Installation was simple and it functions flawlessly. I highly recommend this valve for anyone updating or remodeling their bathroom. Great quality, great value, and very reliable.

Install was easy. Be sure to follow instructions to flush the valve to prevent debris causing leaks. Mount the valve on a 1x4 mounted flush with the 2x4 stud and that’ll give about 1/4” space between the handle and the trim. It’s easy to adjust, its flow is comparable to the old two handle faucet I replaced. So far it’s working great and is easy to service if needed. The trim piece used to cover the old two handle valve looks good as well. Tape your connections and you’ll have no leaks. Be sure to follow instructions to remove the valve and purge before use!

It was honestly hard to find product images of this thing, and the model number isn't exactly stamped into the bronze on this valve. In the end I handed it over to my plumber during our bathroom reno and he had no issues installing this along with the Moen Genta trim we had chosen. Water mixing seems fine and we have no issues getting very hot water after the installation was complete. I've attached some pictures in case it might help someone out. Crossing my fingers that I won't ever have to change this valve body out if we are to ever update to a different Moen trim in the future.

I was remodeling the bathroom in my 1970s home. I asked two different plumbers which shower valve I should buy because I wanted to match a shower kit to it. Moen offers three different valves. This one is in the middle, not the newest one on the market, not the oldest. Both plumbers suggested this Moen posi temp shower valve for the water pressure (powerful) and the ease of matching a trim kit. Apparently, plumbers prefer the posi temp valve over the newer model. As a consumer, I love it! The water pressure it provides is strong! I highly recommend it. It doesn’t matter whether you choose male or female connections because any plumber can adapt the fittings to either.

I don't know if I screwed up, but the hot water comes on first when you turn it on. According to the hot/cold indicators on the trim, it's correct. So you have to go through the hot to get the cold. Probably not a big deal, since no one I know takes cold showers or baths. I didn't use the temp limiter, but the hot doesn't seem very hot. I need to check the water heater before I can blame the valve. I don't mind paying a bit more for decent quality, but Moen's price is a bit much. No surprise there. Better than risking a cheap shower valve inside a wall. Brass is nicely finished, as are the pipe threads.

Great product! Didn't order when I bought the handle and shower head! Assumed it all came together! Wrong to think sometimes! Made the complete unit cost more but solid product!

I offered to replace a leaking shower valve for a friend. Getting to the valve was the hardest part, since the bath sink cabinet was flush with the shower/tub's back wall. After removing it, I was able to access a very old valve that was indeed leaking. With the help of a Sawzall and a copper cutter I was able to get the old unit out. With some PEX and new galvanized piping for the spout I got it in, secured and braced. Got everything put back together, and the shower works great. A little fine-tuning with the temperature limiter, but the amount of water coming out of the shower has vastly improved, and she is happy. A solid unit that works.
