Already had the correct valve do installation was fairly simple. (10 min) Recommend watching the installation video . Thought the handle was loose but if you keep screwing it in all the way, it tightened up. Need an allen wrench. Pleased with the look. Replaced the orginal handle installed with the house and upgraded to this one. Why they don't have all metal parts is beyond me.... since this is what failed with the last handle. But the house is 20 years old so hopefully this on will last at least as long. Bought the used since it was 1/2 price. It was new in box, looks like it was a opened box, but otherwise brand new

I bought this with the rest of the Moen setup, and let me tell you: this handle turns on easier than anything else in my house — including the people who live in it. It actually moves when I turn it. No wrestling. No praying. No wondering if I’m about to snap something and end up on a YouTube plumbing fail video. I touch it, it listens. Imagine that. The water comes on smooth, the temperature doesn’t throw a tantrum, and the whole thing works like it’s happy to be here — which is more than I can say about my knees, my back, and honestly half my appliances. Moen is a great brand; however, it is not inexpensive. I replaced my chrome Moen shower plate and handle with brushed nickel ones. The most difficult part of the entire process was getting the screw (see photo) to come loose from underneath the handle. I am guessing 20-plus years of using the same shower products will do that to you. A hole designed for one of the smallest diameter Allen wrenches doesn't make the removal any easier. I think the brushed nickel adds more decor to the shower itself. I had replaced my old chrome-based shower doors with glass. In my opinion, chrome fixtures (even the Moen brand) just look cheap by comparison. I have tried other "compatible" replacement made for these Moen products, but the plates were plastic. Their photos look great online, but in person, they were a huge disappointment. Moen's price point is the biggest obstacle (4-stars), as I have three more shower plates to replace.

The quality is very good and the brushed nickel finish was nice, but my home is 40 years old and due to required plumbing connection changes it would not fit in my pipe connection. Unfortunately I had to return and call Moen to get the right piece.
