Genuine Black Sony DK36 Magnetic Charging Dock for Sony Xperia Z2 - bulk packing ( NO RETAIL PACKING )

It works!!! I wanted a magnetic charger so I didn't have to open the flap for the other charging port every time. Which not only requires time and effort, it risks damaging the phones waterproof capabilities. So, I started searching for a magnetic charger and it seems that the 3rd time's the charm! While this charger is technically for the Z2, I have the Z3. Unfortunately, the charging docks made for the Z3 don't work with a case on the phone. So, I tried a (non-dock) magnetic charger and it was not a good experience. It was a real chore to get the charger to make a connection and if you even breathed next to it, it would unplug itself. This charging dock is so much better! This one is designed in a way that I don't have to fiddle with it to get it to make a connection. I just slide the phone in and I can hear/feel it click and that's it — it charges my phone and I don't have to deal with any annoyances. You can't really pick up the phone and use it because, well, it is a docking station. So, that is to be expected. But, unlike some other magnetic chargers I tried, you can still use (touch) the phone while it's sitting in the dock without interrupting the connection. I am glad I took the leap and ordered this charger!

Works as designed, but the inserts really only work with the phone by itself or with one of the "approved" cases. It is small and light which doesn't work for a dock. You need to either attach it with velcro or weight the back of it to keep it in place. Also keep in mind this does not come with either a cable or plug so you will have to supply those separately.

I actually purchased this for the xperia z3 compact that I imported from the UK based on advice from someone on reddit. The device comes with two inserts. I tried both, but the one that was in the unit to begin with gave the tighter, more secure fit. The other insert was far too wide and the unit wouldn't stand up on its own or always meet the magnetic charging ports. The angle of the dock is pretty good, but for someone that is 6'4" I actually would appreciate a more acute angle so I could view it easily when it's seated on a table. It's light and unobtrusive enough that I often use the phone with the dock connected instead of messing with the waterproofing flaps and using a more traditional charging cable. And though I know I can accomplish much with Tasker, for those that don't want to learn that application Sony's Xperia connect app actually provides some useful functions in connection with the dock. If I put my phone in this dock, but only between the hours of 10pm and 6am, it uses the app Timely as an alarm clock. When I'm done and wake up and take the phone out of the dock, it is now programmed to automatically open up and play from my News category in BeyondPod.

I have the cheaper aftermarket one sold here at Amazon. They both charge the same and are of good quality, but there are a couple of differences. Mine arrived in Sony retail packaging box, this one has a nice rubber ring around it to keep it in place on your nightstand/desk. The biggest difference between this one and my aftermarket one is you can use whatever Micro USB cord with this one. It doesn't have the permanently attached short cord as my other dock has. Is it worth the $40.00, that all depends how far you are from an outlet. I keep this guy next to my Lazyboy, and often gets to go in my Jeep.

Excellent little dock, phone slips right in and fits like a glove, will also hold your phone vertically if you just want a good place to safely put your phone and don't need to charge, this is not stated on the box or advertised as such but it will indeed hold it either way, nice quality too as is expected from a Sony product.

The product works fine but its like its not made specifically for Xperia Z2 because when you place your phone it does not hold it perfectly and a little movement will cause your phone to disconnect and reconnect. The charger came with 2 attachment so you can use it with and without a case but both are identical, maybe i was sent both parts for the case usage by mistake because the phone is not perfectly fitted when inserted (very loose)

I actually have two of these (my phone unexpectedly came with one) and neither of them worked. Even worse, I had a friend try out a Z1 magnetic charging dock for his Z1 phone and that didn't work either. When I went to the Sony store in my city, they couldn't even figure out how it worked. So outside of plugging it into a power source and lining it up magnetically I don't know what else you would have to do to make it charge. I gave this item two stars as opposed to one because I haven't used it enough to "hate it". Other customers have apparently gotten theirs to work and I've seen videos of people setting it up so maybe it's just me...and three Sony employees.

The adapters wouldn't fit with my tpu case, but I was able to make an L shaped piece of plastic taped to the back of the dock work. It keeps the phone at the perfect angel to get the charger to engage and all it good. If you don't use a case or have a thicker case, it make work out-of-the-box for you. I think this is the case with all of these stands, not just this one (more a ding on sony, I guess).

El cargador funciona de maravilla. No he calculado la velocidad a la que carga, pero con la autonomía que tiene el Z2, solo necesito usarlo cuando me voy a la cama. El imán tiene bastante poder de sujeción. Como se menciona en el paquete, tiene dos railes de distinto espesor y con el más fino el móvil baila un poco, pero cuando lo pones a cargar, no andas moviéndolo. Quizá no es lo ideal para usarlo en un barco o una caravana en movimiento, pero para un uso normal en una casa, sin problemas. Me imagino que el otro raíl de mayor anchura servirá para si tienes una carcasa fina. En la base tiene un contorno de goma que hace que no resbale sobre ninguna superficie lisa. A diferencia de la dock de carga del Xperia Z que solo tenía cuatro puntos de goma, esta dock ha mejorado claramente su agarre. Y estéticamente...pues es Sony, nada que criticar.

Ich habe die Dock auf meinem Nachttisch und verwende das Smartphone Nachts als Wecker. 3 Anmerkungen: 1) Ich verwende das Sony Cover SCR10 und es passt problemlos in die Dock, da das Cover eine entsprechende Aussparung hat. Ich lasse es über Nacht - nach hinten abstehend - also am Smartphone dran. 2) Das Zusammenspiel mit SmartConnect funktioniert tadellos. 3) Viele bemängeln, dass die Dock zu leicht ist und damit das Smartphone dran "kleben" bleibt, wenn man es hochhebt. Ich empfinde genau das eigentlich als Vorteil, weil ich - wenn angedockt - Smartphone und Dock als Einheit sehe, nämlich als Wecker, und somit keine Probleme habe, den "Wecker" Nachts mal in meine Richtung zu drehen oder Sonstiges. Wenn ich das Smartphone dann morgens aus der Dock nehme, geht das mit etwas Geschick schon mit einer Hand (wie einige schon beschrieben haben), es stört mich allerdings auch nicht, die andere Hand zur Hilfe zu nehmen.

docomo純正の急速充電アダプタ05との組み合わせでは全く使えません。 Z2だけでなくUltraの充電にも使えず、急速充電アダプタ05の代わりに普通のUSB出力アダプタだと問題なく使えています。 また急速充電アダプタ05はZ2直刺しでは急速充電できているので、急速充電2を利用するには国内版(docomo取り扱い)ドックが必要だと思われる。

レビューにz3tabletに使用できると書いてあったのでかったのですが、カパカパでした。充電は普通にできるので、商品事態は悪く無いんだろうと思います。

I've had my Sony Experia Z2 for some time, and although there has not been any issue at all with the charging socket cover, I'm conscious of the possibility that it may eventually work loose. I have been removing the cover daily for charging and as it is a waterproof cover any slack in the fitting would not be desirable. I therefore purchased the charging dock to enable ease of charging. I was slightly concerned with some of the negative coments with regards to fitting and durability. I soon discovered that there was no need. The dock comes with 2 inserts that in total offers 3 different fitting widths. I have a Snakehive leather flip case, also bought through Amazon, and with this case on it slips into the dock very easily. The magnets quickly locate and the phone just snaps into place. As it only takes a second to remove this case, I have recently started charging out of the case as it just looks nicer. There are various options on the phone for what is displayed during charging, and the audible tone when charging is complete. There seems to have been some concerns about how light the dock is and that it would move about to easily. There is some foundation in this while the dock is empty, but the weight of the phone overcomes this. Because I only ever use mine in exactly the same place on my computer desk, I have use double sided tape to secure it, which makes it very stable. Again this is not a permanent fix and is easily removed if needed. All in all a good genuine Sony product. I'm not sure how third party compatibles would fair.
