Intimate Apparel/Fabulation

The choice of this woman in this world, the journey she goes on, even the joining of her best, only friend, with her ordinary husband these are both always unexpected and yet the truth of them humanly inevitable. THis is a GREAT play, perhaps Lynn Nottage's greatest though it came after RUINED.

Never ventured into plays before but with this class I'm taking it has opened my eyes to something new for me and I like it.

Spectacular play. Well written. Engaging. Wonderful read. Encouraged me to go see the play, which was also really fine.

This is a GREAT play. A little sad, but so well written, wonderful roles for women of color.

Nottage is my favorite playwright for a reason. She took her magic, responsible for Intimate Apparel, and created a new, modern world, full of spontaneity, pain, truth, and honesty.

Good price - two plays for the price of one. Well worth the purchase.

Intimate Apparel— 5 Stars. I absolutely adore this play all of the characters in it. The writing is so vivid and clear that I don't feel like I've lost anything in reading this play over seeing it (although I'm sure I have). I love the descriptions of the fabrics and beats throughout the dialogue. It's beautiful. I would especially love to see various costume designers takes on the garments mentioned. Fabulation— 4 Stars. Fabulation is a very well done play, but I was much less drawn to the characters than those of Intimate Apparel. Though just as vivid and interesting, they seemed less unique and quite a bit less sympathetic. I don't really care for plays about babies and motherhood, so this was a bit of loss (at absolutely no fault of the playwrights). For a different audience, I am sure this is a hit.
