I LOVE THIS MAT!!! It works SOOOO much better than Wilton's fondant rolling mat. It might cost more but is worth every penny.PROS:1. This mat stays in place while rolling the fondant, which the Wilton mat did not.2. Fondant did not stick and was easy to lift off. No powdered sugar necessary.3. Does not stain easily. I accidentally got food coloring on the mat a couple times, but it all came off after rolling the fondant over the stained area or wiping it with a damp cloth. I don't know if the stain will stay if you leave it there for a prolonged period of time though. I didn't want to test that out.4. I can roll out the fondant MUCH thinner on this mat compared to Wilton's mat. Whenever I tried to roll it out thin on the Wilton mat, it was always very difficult to lift off without being damaged. With this silicone mat, it's sooo much easier!5. The size is great! It gives you more than enough room to work.CONS:1. My mat doesn't lay perfectly flat. The middle of the longer edges of the mat lift slightly off the table. If you try to smooth them out, the mat lifts on another edge. I may have just gotten a defective mat, but it's not too problematic for me so I just kept mine.I would rate this mat 5 stars, but because of the defect I gave it 4. Other than that, I highly recommend this mat to any cake decorator. It's AWESOME and I love the color!

This mat is great for covering large cakes and using colored fondant. I have a sheeter and it works effortlessly. I can get my fondant thin which allows for smoother effortless coverage. I love that I can adjust the shape of the rolled fondant on the mat, add additional fondant pieces for length/width and "reroll" through the sheeter without a hiccup. The fondant peels off without sticking and a pizza cutter won't destroy the mat.HOWEVER, the blue color bleeds through so be careful when using white fondant. I still use it but I peel it off first and place it on my cakes with the blue stripes on the underside...get it? It's a hassle for larger cakes but not bad for cakes under 12". It's also textured so if you're looking for smooth fondant you have to peel it off first and lay it on the cake with the textured side down. Just like you'd have to do with the blue stripes.It works for me!

This mat works amazingly well as a table cloth in our RV. While driving down the road, all items stay in place and don't slide around or off of the table. This mat also works well once we park at our destination. Games and puzzles can be played while the RV is in motion or stationary. As a bonus, when the table converts to a bed, the mat keeps the cushions from sliding onto the floor while in use. Easy to clean off food and pet hair and it survived 6 years with use from our family of four plus dogs and cat. We were careful to avoid folding it to minimize damage.

I must admit I was surprised at how well this works. I didn't buy it for fondant but for kneading bread and it works marvelously. I always have an issue of using too much flour or not enough and it sticking to the surface. This is not a problem with this. I can keep the dough nice and tacky. Now, for the product details, it seems like it's fairly inexpensively produced with what looks like standard molded food grade silicone. I don't know if they treat it with anything, but it works. I purchased this HUGE model but I think I could have easily got away with their smaller 24x24; however, this definitely gives me room to work. Since this looks like regular silicone (with a matte finish) you might have just as much luck with a similar brand silicone mat (no promises); although, I have tried the Silpat mats before as a kneading surface but that just didn't work. Maybe because the Silpat mats are designed to go into the oven as well. I'll probably use this to roll out pie dough as well, eventually. Oh, and NO CUTTING OR FOLDING! It's just silicone so it will slice right through and store it by rolling it up, and do not tightly fold it (with a crease).

Works great. Seems like it was well made and of good quality. Doesn't move when I'm rolling and trying to work with the fondant. Nice and BIG!The only thing I don't love is that it is textured rather than smooth, so only the side I had the roller on is smooth and not the side that was on the mat. I wish I had known that. I would've purchased the silicone Ateco work mat that is all blue from another site for the same price and size, although I have noticed that one tends to move around a little while you're rolling-- they both have their pros and cons I guess.I just really could've used the option of laying my fondant on directly from the mat rather than having to drape it onto my rolling pin. Now I can't decide if I should get a longer rolling pin to do that or to just buy the cheaper, smaller wilton mat.

This mat is a blessing. I have been rolling out fondant for a couple years now on my table. It would always stick bad and all the cornstarch I had to use dried the fondant up. I just recieved my mat today, which was a lot bigger than what I thought. I used to it roll out fondant to cover a cake and I did not have to use any cornstarch at all. I also used it to roll out gumpaste for sugar flowers and nothing stuck then as well.I was able to roll the gumpaste very thin, which made my flowers look more realistic. The best part though was the clean up. All I had to do was pick up the mat and slide all of the mess into the trash and wipe the mat off. It was 100 x easier then what I have been doing. Also the mat stuck well to the table so nothing moved around. There are no creases on the mat that would show up in anything you roll out on it. I highly recommend anyone who is into cake decorating or pastries to get this mat rather then doing things the hard way. I only wish I had ordered one of these a long time ago, it would have saved me so much frustration! I plan to order my mom as well.

I used to own the blue opaque Ateco mat. This is translucent and a little thinner. Because it's thinner, it's easier to roll and store. Not as heavy so easier for me to clean. But because it's thinner, when you roll on the table, make sure the table is clean and has nothing on top to make sure the mat lays really flat and you can roll out your fondant smoothly.

Worked perfectly for rolling fimo polymer clay. It was a good weight and was made of quality plastic. Would recommend.

Could be how deep I pressed it but the lines were not consistent and even though it was completely set the buttercream lifted. May be better with fondant or marzipan.
