Benzoil - 3% Benzoyl Peroxide & 2% Tea Tree Oil Rapid Acne & Spot Treatment Serum - 70% Organic, Preservative-Free, Normal & Cystic Acne - 2 oz

I was reluctant to try a brand that I had never heard of, but I'm glad I took a chance on this one. Benzoyl Peroxide has been a staple for my skin for 15 years. I've always struggled with breakouts and used to take a prescription form of Benzoyl Peroxide that was extremely effective for me. So effective in fact that after a couple years of using it daily I stopped breaking out at all, and discontinued the prescription. I used PersaGel for the occasional pimple, and that worked just fine, for a while. Enter my 30's, where my hormones have gone bat crap crazy and PersaGel was not cutting it anymore, like my breakouts just laughed at it. Ugh. I needed something that was somewhat strong for pimples, but also gentler than the 10% BP found in most formulations because I want to hit the acne hard, but not turn my skin into sandpaper.This IS that stuff - this product combines the efficiency of BP with the soothing and anti inflammatory properties of Tea Tree Oil, and it works wonderfully. It is not harsh on my skin at all, does not dry to a thick paste like other BP based products, and I also noticed that it does not bleach my clothing or pillow cases like other products. It has the consistency of a serum, it feels very light and can easily be worn under makeup.I'm very impressed and look forward to more products from this company!

I am really liking this product so far! I've been using this now for about a week or two as a regular step in my nighttime skincare routine. I use this after I have washed and toned my face, but before I apply heavier serums or moisturizers. This product has a very thin consistency and dries down pretty quickly on the skin. I use it all over the face, altough particularly in breakout-prone areas or on active spots; if I notice something developing, I may even pat a bit more of the product directly on top of the spot as a last step in my routine. The product does have a kind of medicinal scent, probably from the TTO, although it is not overpowering. In the time I have been using it, I do think it has helped to reduce the number of active blemishes I've been having, and has helped a few spots that were already there reduce in size faster than they might have otherwise. It has not completely cleared by skin, but it's early in my use, and I think it has definitely helped. I do think this product makes the areas I apply it to feel drier, although I have very oily skin naturally, so this is not a big problem. I also use moisturizer morning and night, but don't find the areas I used the BENZD on to be any drier during the day. I don't know how it might interact with naturally drier skin. It has not caused any irritation or increase in breakouts. I will definitely continue to use this product and will likely consider checking out some of the other products in this line.

I have officially used this product for 12 weeks. My history with acne is long. I got of birth control 8 years ago and my face exploded in severe acne, I was getting about 15 new pimples per day on some occasions. I got on acne.org products and after 8 months my face was clear and over the course of about 7 years I got about 5 pimples on my face. I am prone to acne and clearly had hormonal issues, so this product was amazing. Fast forward to last summer and my face started to become peely and I started to break out on my chin only during PMS. I realized I had slacker on my products over the years, getting too comfortable in my routine. I started making sure I was following the acne.org regimen and I just couldn’t get my skin to cooperate like it used to. Perhaps my aging skin (I am now 31) just couldn’t handle the amount of BP used anymore without causing issue, I’m not sure. My skin was angry red, peeling and so dry I was in tears multiple times a day. I realized that I just couldn’t continue doing that and I needed a change. I researched other benzoyl peroxide treatments and found Benzoil to try. I completely stopped using all of my acne.org treatments and started slowly using Benzoil. Over the course of 6 weeks I was using 6 pumps morning and night. It’s been really good to my face, my breakouts are more frequent than I like, but my skin doesn’t hurt, and to me that’s the most important thing. It’s keeping much of the acne I would have at bay, but it’s not strong enough to combat my hormonal acne. It’s not made for this purpose, so the fact that it doesn’t is okay. I know using 6 pumps of this seems like a lot, but my acne would be severe without it simply from coming off of an intense amount of benzoyl peroxide over such a long course of time. I would recommend this product to anyone with mild to moderate acne. Do not ever use BP in places where you do not need it unless it’s only a spot treatment because your skin will become dependent on it. When I was young my acne was everywhere....but now that I am older and know my acne is only hormonal (and sugar related), I don’t really get acne on my forehead or sides of my face. Coming off of acne.org I had a few breakouts in these spots as they adjusted to lower concentrations and the more gentle Benzoil, but now I get nothing because I just don’t breakout there anymore. I would think that people that get mild breakouts around hormonal times would benefit from this, as mine is more severe. All that being said, I am going to continue to use this product and work with something a little stronger at night over this to try and help combat my stubborn areas. It’s completely worth the money and it’s so gentle.

This product works really well. Unfortunately I’ve only received one bottle (and I’ve ordered 6 or 7 now) that wasn’t expired. Every other bottle has been weeks or months past the listed expiration date. This company’s quality control needs some help.
