Plantronics M175 offers outstanding value
I recommend the Plantronics M175 headset to home or home office users who want to talk hands free and who don't mind a corded headset. My experience with the M175 headset has been very favorable. The brand reputation, feature set, low maintenance cost, and low price combine to make an outstanding value.I purchased the Plantronics M175 headset for use in the home with an AT&T E5828B telephone. The E5828B has a corded deskset and two cordless handsets. The handsets each have a headset port which is how I use my M175. With the handset clipped to my belt with the supplied belt clip and the M175 on my head and clipped to my shirt with the supplied alligator clip I can move about the house while talking on the phone, and have both hands completely free allowing me to do other things like taking notes, washing dishes, folding laundry, etc.I use an industrial version of a Plantronics headset at work and it has been trouble-free for over 10 years. Before researching the M175 I was sold on the Plantronics brand due to my experience at work.I chose the M175 over other Plantronics products based on the features I wanted from a headset product. This one wraps around my head, which I like, but also has ear clips in case you don't want to wear it over your head. The headset is very light weight and comfortable on my head. The ear piece is padded and covered with a synthetic (like vinyl) and feels good on my ear.The M175 is a corded headset, therefore, it does not require its own battery. It draws power from the handset battery. This reduces my lifetime maintenance cost for this product.Reading some of the other reviews on this product, people had trouble either hearing or being heard with this headset. I have had neither problem. There are adjustable volume controls on the headset for both speaking volume and listening volume. My telephone handset also has a listening volume control which can be used in addition to the headset volume control. The microphone boom looks a little short, but in practice I find it is of sufficient length and offers enough adjustment to get it in the right position.I paid about $32 for the product which had a list price of $65. As I write this review it is under $28 with the same list price. I feel I got good value at $32 and $28 is even better.I do not see how to replace the earpad if it wears out. Perhaps the foam earpads available at Radio Shack would fit over the ear piece in the event the original wears out. It would be a nice additional feature if Plantronics supplied a couple or three foam earpad covers that fit over the built in earpad. That way, if one got dirty or worn out it could be replaced easily while saving the built in earpad from wear. The Plantronics M175 headset used in concert with the AT&T E5828B cordless handset is a very convenient and useful combination. If you are looking to add a headset to an existing telephone the M175 is an excellent choice. The Plantronics brand reputation, M175 feature set, low (or no) maintenance cost, and low price combine to make an outstanding value. To repeat my opening line, I recommend the M175 headset to home or home office users who want to talk hands free and who don't mind a corded headset. Were I in the market for another headset I would purchase another M175.

Great for Suitable Cordless Phones
I bought this headset to plug into my Philips VOIP841 PC-Free DECT 6.0 Wireless IP Phone and Philips VOIP 321 Skype Dual Phone Single Handset ( VOIP3211G/37 ) to let me call into teleconferences whilst still having my hands free to type.Pros:- Compatibility: Worked without issues with both my cordless phones.- Features: The headset allows adjustment of earpiece and microphone volumes which allows the headset to be tweaked to work optimally for the phone and user. Also, having a mute switch on the cable control module is very useful.- Audio Quality: Incoming voices come in loud and clear and I've never had any complaints about my voice being unclear.- Comfort: I wear this for at least an hour at a time and have never felt uncomfortable wearing it. There is the usual adjustable headband, the microphone boom can be moved and the earpiece can be worn on either ear.Cons:- A version with two earpieces rather than just one would have been preferable.

Plantronics Mobile Convertible Headset M 175C
I spent many hours searching for a good headset for my Clarity XLC 3.4 Cordless Phone for the hearing impaired and settled on this one as the most bang for the buck. I was hoping for a headset to improve my hearing even with this phone, which it did, but only marginally so. It is convenient not to hold the phone to speak into it. The best about this headset is its very low price of $17.48 through The OEM Shop. For that low price, what can one really expect. (I did note many similar offerings for this headset from other suppliers ranging to several times what I paid). At any rate, the image depicts two ear hooks; I received only one size which seems too large to be useful. I received with the package a short adapter cable to convert the headset's connector from 3.5 mm to the necessary 2.5mm for my phone. The assembly is a bit clumsy when connected to my phone. The ear cushion is rather small (the image shows two). The entire headset construction is a bit fragile, and I don't expect it to last very long, so treat the unit with kid gloves. No instructions were supplied to convert to the ear hook, and I hesitate to try to adapt fearing to break the plastics.

Flawless BUT....what happened to the price???
I have been using this headset with my Panasonic KX-TG6511B cordless phone for over two years now and truly love it. I would sleep with it, if it would reciprocate my affection in kind. It is very comfortable, has volume controls and a mute feature that comes in handy on those occasions when I curse the party on the other end and do not want them to hear expletives. Obviously, I highly recommend it. I even have another one sitting patiently on my Wish List, if for some reason this one leaves me.Initially, I had purchased the Plantronics M214C headset. The volume was deplorable and Amazon was gracious in refunding my money when I contacted them and returned it.I do not think that you could go awry with this headset if you intend to use it with a cordless telephone.I had purchased this for $26. dollars in 2012. The cost now would render this item OVERPRICED AND NOT WORTH PURCHASING!!

Hearing and mic a bit weak, headband too large
Although it is made well I found the hearing to be poor and the folks on the other end said the mic was weak and not the best quality although legible. The inline volume control was a no-opp, it made no noticeable change in the volume when attached to my Razr phone. The only other complaint I have is the same for all headsets I use. The over-the-head band is too long. This is a common failure with all headsets, they don't fit someone with a 6-7/8 hat size. The hard part ends up right on top of my off-side ear so I have to move it further to the back of my head or above the ear and then the headphone side slips around. <sigh> I guess I need to boost up my ego to make my head larger.Just FYI, I also bought a Panasonic KX-TCA86 Comfort-fit headset with travel fold design and found it to be a much better item overall. See my review there.

Very good at this price.
This is a nice headphone. I don't use the earpiece option, but with the band, the earphone is comfortable, and I've asked callers to tell me what sort of sound they're getting and they say it's clear and audible. I have mine attached to a cordless phone and use it for work meetings and the like, and the fact that I can move around while I'm on the call is very handy. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Very comfortable headset, perfect for long conference calls.
Very light and nice clear sound, people can hear me perfectly and it is comfortable to use for extended periods like conference calls. The ability to change the volume and also quickly mute it is a bonus too.

Works well
Good product and investment. I purchased it over a year ago and have had no issues with daily use (+8 hours daily). Headset is comfortable, mic is clear, ear piece has good sound quality although I have on occasion wished it could be a little bit louder.

Cacophonous
The sound levels of both the microphone and earpiece are very good. Sounds are very clear to both the speaker and listener. That is where the good news ends. The microphone picks up EVERY noise in the room. Listeners on the other end of the phone will actually hear noises that you will not! Good feature for spy gear, bad for conversations. The cord engineering causes sound issues. The cord emerges from an opening that is parallel to the microphone boom. Since the boom will always be positioned at an angle, the cord will always be sort of spilling out of the hole, and then downward. The cord is a little stiff, instead of soft. The combination of these two design choices means that a slightly stiff cable is just millimeters away from the microphone boom. This results in the cable frequently bumping up against the microphone boom, which in combination with the sensitivity of the microphone, sounds like the headset is being dropped on the floor. A softer material for the cable and better cable management (angled down and away from the headset) may have helped with this issue.Touching any part of the headset even slightly, will result in a sound like a zipper being pulled up.As for physical fit, the earpiece is too small. This isn't subjective, it's practical. The microphone boom is rigidly attached to the earpiece, which means that microphone positioning is dependent on the position of the earpiece. Because the earpiece is so small, it acts more as a pivot than a base, so the earpiece needs to be frequently re-adjusted to keep the angle right.
