It starts to work the second you install the batteries. I think it's quite accurate. When you open your safe, check your reading. After about a minute, you might start seeing your number to start going up. That's the humidity from outside your safe. I think ideal humidity should be around 30% - 50% inside your safe. Then you decide on a dehumidifier. You might need more than just one.

Humidity worked less than 24h .... indicate 35% when it is 55 !!! Scrap material .....

Works great and does what it is supposed to. It has a couple opinions of how to display. you can either use the stand on the back or attach a provided QD mount to the inside of your safe door and attach it with that. I also like the 24hr Hi/Lo recording that it has. For the money it looks good and works great.

Easy to use. Battery life seems OK after 9 month it is still good. Not quite as accurate as other meters I have but close enough for my purposes.
