MiLTAT 22mm Watch Band for Seiko SKX007 SKX009 SKX175, Super-O Solid Screw-Links

This is a strictly personal and very subjective thing to evaluate. The "Jubilee" band that came with my Seiko XKX007 watch was not a bad watch band, and many, including myself, think it's an extremely comfortable metal band. It's light weight and extremely flexible and comfortable to wear. But I have other watches with heavier metal bands and for me, the stock Seiko "Jubilee" band just felt a bit light. So again, it's just a matter of personal preference - some like light bands and some want a more "substantial" feeling band. This "Super Oyster Type II" watch band from Strapcode is, for me, more to my liking.... And at around $55 it's a lot less expensive than the similar band offered directly by Seiko. In fact, it's one of the least expensive bands that is a direct (curved ends) fit for the SKX line of Seiko dive watches offered by this seller. The fit is absolutely perfect! The reason for the band being heavier than the stock Seiko band that came with my watch (and I believe all SKX watches (as a choice between a metal band and a rubber band), is that the links are all solid while the links of the Seiko "Jubilee" band are solid on the outer sides, but just bent metal links in the center, which are very light. Also, the curved end pieces of the Seiko "Jubilee" band are just bent steel while the curved end pieces of this band are each made from a single block of solid stainless steel. Overall, the quality of this "Super Oyster" band is just much better than the Seiko band as far as the way it's made...... As has been said countless times; for Seiko to offer such great watches at such reasonable prices, they do have to economize somewhere, so it seems like a fair deal to us owners to do it on the band - which can be easily replaced....whether you spend over $100 for a metal band or $8-$15 for a nylon "NATO" type strap, or virtually any amount of money on any kind of leather strap - the choices are vast! And no matter what you do (or if you keep the stock Seiko rubber or metal "Jubilee" band), you'll still have an amazing watch for not much money - probably far and away the best watch you can buy for under $200 (and probably better than most watches twice the price). There's no doubt that this Oyster band from Strapcode is a great piece of jewelry. The finish is as perfect as the finish on the SKZ watch (and a match - brushed on the upper side, and polished on the sides (ends) - the same way the SKX watch is finished! Also the safety clasp is definitely more secure (and stronger). It has not only the folding clasp that snaps into place from the opposite end like the Seiko band, but it also has a spring-loaded push button locking mechanism that would prevent an accidental opening if the band got snagged on something (which is possible on the Seiko metal band). And of course, as I said to start with, the band is substantially heavier than the Seiko metal band....which I like. But again, it's a matter of personal preference. I find both bands to be very comfortable. I can't say one is more comfortable than the other. For me, the "Super Oyster Type II" band is a marked improvement over the Seiko "Jubilee" - but your mileage may vary. The "Jubilee" is lighter and more flexible (although it's not noticeable to me when wearing). I think the only real objective difference that is obvious to me is the better clasp (which some people mentioned does not have the name "Seiko" on it as the "Jubilee" band does. (and no...the parts can not be interchanged).

This bracelet is awesome. It really completes the look of my Seiko SKX 007! It changes the watch's look into one which is more professional, more grown-up, more refined and confident. The solid curved end-links fit into the space between the lugs perfectly, but beware: it takes a little bit of force to squeeze them in there. They do not slide in easily--but that's exactly what you want! The friction between the lugs and the end links means they stay solidly, snugly locked in place once you get them in. I was able to attach this bracelet myself with a simple spring bar tool that I bought. And I was able to size the bracelet using a very small flat-head screwdriver that I already had. Because this bracelet has screwed links, you will need a very tiny screwdriver if you intend to size it yourself! However, screwed links is exactly what you want for a quality bracelet. It gives a much more secure connection than pinned links. The sizing worked well. The first day I did it, I thought I had sized it right, but it ended up being too tight as I discovered over the next few days. It was leaving an imprint on my skin where it had dug in. So I put one more link back in, and used the bracelet's micro-adjustment to make it tighter, and now the watch fits perfectly without any discomfort.

I would say firstly my wrist is app 7.25”. it’s a nice enough bracelet for the cost, but it does add quite a bit of weight especially compared to my Rolex explorer 2 for instance. So it does take some getting used to if you wear it for a day you should be fine. It does add a level of sophistication. I also bought the jubilee for my SKX 009 which tends to make it look more like a Rolex GMT. The jubilee hugs the wrist better but is a very different look. I think someone that is interested in upgrading the bracelet and the look of the watch a that does not like the original jangly Seiko jubilee that I love, you should buy this. I wish it had more micro adjustments because I found it hard to find a great fit it would be great if they had some type of half link option like on the Rolex oyster. I know Strapcode/Miltat has others but I don’t like a large clasp that spans across your entire wrist. Again for the price, it’s a worthwhile pick up if you want a sturdier heavier watch and don’t like the Seiko jubilee. I know Uncle has quite a few options that I think are lighter like the Z199 or President.

This a nice band that really makes my older Seiko Dive quartz watch look great. It was easily adjusted to size and looks great but you will need the right size jewelers screw driver and a pin remover to make adjusting the band easier. I used a drop of oil on each screw to be removed and let it set for 5 minutes. The threads were smooth and did not gar coming out or going back into the band. I recommend this item to anyone wanting to update your Seiko. The thing I like best about it is where it joins the watch their is no phony looking pressed out piece. This band has real cuts into the metal allowing it to move and articulate. It is machined, not pressed out of sheet metal like the original. It really improves the look of my watch. Fits perfect and the pins have notches on the ends that make getting them in and out a lot easier than the original ones. This a handsome well thought out product that is worth the investment. Here is a tip: When assembling, place the last attachment link directly against the curved side of case this necessary to attach band. Took a few minutes for me to find this out. Other than that everything went smoothly.

Fits my watch perfect. Good weight and a nice finish. Two people already assumed I was wearing a Rolex without taking a close look. :). The band wiillscratch a wood desk, however.

Il bracciale è di qualità elevata. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo, tra l’altro, è veramente ottimo. Anche la clash, seppur semplice, è di livello superiore rispetto a quelle “di serie”. Ho avuto un problema con gli “endlinks”, che erano un po’ lenti, ma ho scritto all’assistenza e me ne hanno inviati due nuovi, senza costi aggiuntivi. Quindi, nel complesso, sono soddisfattissimo, sia della qualità del prodotto, sia della serietà del venditore.

Pretty good quality overall, great clasp, but lots of sharp edges and rough finishing.

This Oyster bracelet is very well made and I'm very happy with it. I had my Seiko SKX007 on the original Seiko "Jubilee" bracelet for several years and it was extremely comfortable, due to it having 5 smaller links across (rather than the 3 larger links across that this Oyster bracelet has). This gave it a great deal of play and a loose, comfortable feeling when wearing it. This Oyster bracelet is reassuringly heavy, very nicely finished, with much less play than the Jubilee and I think much more in keeping with the chunky style of the watch (but ultimately not quite as comfortable). On the Jubilee the outer links were brushed and the 3 inner links were polished, on the Oyster all of the links are brushed (with polished outer edges, as is the clasp). Other key differences on the Oyster are: solid steel end links (vs. stamped steel), solid deployment mechanism on the clasp (vs. stamped steel), no logo on the clasp's fliplock (vs. "SEIKO" stamped on the Jubilee), 3 removable links on each side of the clasp secured with screws (vs. push pins, screws are much easier!), 3-hole micro adjustment on the clasp (vs. 5-hole on the Jubilee), the clasp is of the push-button release style (vs. clip-down). Other things to note are: two 2.5mm (larger diameter) "fat" stainless steel spring bars are included and work a treat; keep in mind when that the solid end links have no play at all so fitting is more fiddly and a spring bar tool is the right tool for the job, although you can make do without one; the bracelet gently tapers from 22mm at the ends to 18mm at the clasp as do most bracelets; the 3-hole micro adjustment allows 3mm of adjustment to the bracelet length per hole (so +0mm, +3mm, +6mm lengthening or shortening); each removable link makes 10mm of difference to the length of the bracelet; the end links are curved and mate perfectly with the watch case; being quite a solid bracelet with very little play it does occasionally tug on the odd hair now and again. To sum up, I'm very happy with the Oyster, I think it's very well made, I think it suits the SKX007 perfectly (but the trade-off is that my Jubilee bracelet is more comfortable), the price (£35) is very fair for something put together this well and I'd certainly buy another Strapcode bracelet without any hesitation. Fit my SKX007 like a glove. One thing to note though is that you have to use the spring bars provided by Strapcode. I had trouble installing the bracelet initially when I was attempting to use the original SKX spring bars, but the difficulty ceased when I used the spring bars provided.
