desertcart.com: The Seven Realms: The Complete Series: Collecting The Demon King, The Exiled Queen, The Gray Wolf Throne, and The Crimson Crown (Seven Realms Novels) eBook : Chima, Cinda Williams: Books Review: It was a great adventure! - Well crafted series with very intentional twists and turns that left me eagerly trying to help the characters find the hidden traps and secret exit door. When I thought I had things figured out, alas, another twist. This book will keep you engaged as if you were a cherished character in the story. We'll done! Review: Must Read!! Great for a present! - I enjoyed the books, and so did my sister. They came in a nice collectors set type box, but when it was shipped to us it was loose in a box with packing peanuts, therefore it was able to bounce around too much in the box. The corners had tears and were bent on the collector type box. The packaging could have been a little better but all and all it was a very nice product for the price. Now about the book.. In honesty, I usually read books or novels intended for a more...mature audiences. I like authors that challenge me to think of deep and complex psychological and philosophical questions and characters who struggle to find their own answers to these same ideas. That being said, I've read my fair share of YA books and I've enjoyed the majority of them. Their like a breath of air after hours, days, and months under the surface of the philosophical/emotional ocean that I'm more accustomed to. Instead of stressing wondering whether a character will survive an endeavor or sitting migraine deep in thought over a question presented I instead feel as if I'm a placid observer. That's not to say that these books can never be challenging or though provoking but the manner they achieve this in is far less strenuous. It's...lighter. With that, the SR series is by far one of the better YA books I've read. The world makes use of familiar tropes without coming off as cheesy and all in all it doesn't feel like fantasy dumbed down for teenager with raging hormones (*cough* *cough* Stephanie Meyer *cough* *cough*) but instead a work of fiction simplified so that a larger audience can enjoy it.The plot, the storytelling, the characters all were excellent.

My top fantasy series!
This series is highly underrated. Everything from the world to the characters and the storyline. It's just fantastic! I can't get enough of this series. I have read it through three times back to back. I highly recommend to anyone. I will say The first book Demon King is a little slow but I promise it gets faster and better! Once you finish this series you should jump to the nest series in this lovely world, the shattered realms. Those are just as good of not better in their own way! Thank you Cinda Williams Chima for creating this beautiful series!

Love this series, sad about the damaged book case
I read the first book in the series a few years ago on e-book format and wanted to buy all 4 on paperback ever since. The package arrived fast but the case these books came in looked like it went through a pretty rough time. There was nothing protecting it either and the plastic around the box was already halfway ripped off. I found myself adding tape to the damaged areas to keep it from falling apart since the books are pretty heavy while the case is quite flimsy... However, my main focus here was getting all four books in the series and that the books themselves didn't suffer any damage -- which they didn't. The price was great and affordable, I'm satisfied with my purchase and incredibly happy about finally owning physical copies of these books but wished a bit more protection was taken into consideration so my next book box set purchase can survive the journey.

It was worth it
I first read the demon king years ago when I stayed with my grandma all the time and rereading it brought back many fond memories I hadn’t thought of in years. I loved the book then and think I love it more now because of the memories it brought to the surface so I eagerly bought the whole seven realms set and every free moment reading the other 3 as they were new and held wonderful adventures I loved the ending of the finally book and in my eagerness to learn more of the seven realms universe I accidentally learned something I maybe didn’t want to. (mild spoilers ahead) While it has made me hesitant to start the shattered realms series I know I eventually will because it would be a disservice not to because even if I’d known from the beginning, like the talented author, I don’t think it would’ve changed anything. Having these memories, falling in love with these characters, knowing you don’t always get to keep your happy endings, it was worth it. It will always be worth it to fall in love, be it with fictional characters or in the real world.

My tween daughter enjoyed these
I bought this series for my daughter who had read & re-read the Percy Jackson books & was looking for a new series. She is 12 and really liked this set, asking me to buy her the follow-up series (The Shattered Realms) now that she's finished these. I did read the first book in the series & found it interesting enough. However, there is some suggestive language & the princess tends to flit from one romantic interest to the next, which I wasn't a fan of. Otherwise, it has wizards, and magic, and all the fun items you'd look for in the fantasy genre. She also really enjoys the "Keeper of the Lost Cities" series if you are looking for another suggestion!

Good balance of heroism, mystery, and romance
I originally read this series in middle school, but as a college student I wanted to re-read it. It held up surprisingly well, and I loved the characters just as much. The world building is detailed without being hard to remember (looking at you, Game of Thrones), Raisa is admirable but not perfect, and Han Alister is the epitome of sticking it to the man in a way that I adore. The romance is fun, without dominating the book, and the many different identities within the story that all fight for control is a tale not unlike real life. Overall, I would highly recommend the series, and it’s definitely one I’ll see myself coming back to time and time again.

I loved this series, I read the whole thing in 4 days and just loved it. Now I hear there will be a continuation in 2016 based 20 years after this series with a new set of teens. If Raisa and Han are not the main characters i sincerely hope that the new characters are all children of characters from the previous series, and that the old characters still play somewhat of a major role in this series as well.

Abaixo, a crítica do primeiro livro: “History," Mari muttered, as if she'd overheard his thoughts. "Why do we need to know what happened before we were born?" "So hopefully we get smarter and don't make the same mistakes again.” Eu posso falar que The Demon King conseguiu me satisfazer e ainda me impressionar!
